@lovedvni @ChandrikaCC Taking it a step further, I feel that acknowledging the humor/parody while disassociating could aid public image in your ability to take a joke while informing the people that this is not an official account.

@AryaCheyenne @ChandrikaCC I agree that dissociating from the account would be the most apt move for Rhianna's camp. Although I think asking for removal seems a little strong. Then again, I'm not a heavy social media user.

twitter.com/OnionSports?s=… This is a parody account of The Onion, who parodies real life news headlines. The account is not confusing, does not overpower The Onion, nor has mainstream picked it up. If anything, it benefits the brand. I would leave it alone. #Response #MUCrisisComm

@CharekaHawkMU @ChandrikaCC This message I appreciate because it aims to be proactive in preventing more injuries, casualties, etc. apart from the event that has already taken place.

@MorganKohr @ChandrikaCC I like that you found an article directed at others to help rather than a message to the people it affects or general information sharing. I feel like more statements could aim that direction

This is an article from the USDA updating disaster assistance plan. The message is written to all agricultural workers across the country effected from Covid-19. The article uses transparency, and meets needs of the media in terms of regular updates. fsa.usda.gov/news-room/news…

@ThatLangNerd @ChandrikaCC I'm with you Jools. Though I do want to give Coombs credit, because situations do make for different decisions. I just don't think you can use his theory without also subscribing to Benoits.

@ChandrikaCC I think Benoit's theory makes more sense to me and I think it's more useful because there is a list of real life situations wherein the different methods have been used which makes it feel a lot more clear and concrete #CrisisImage #MUCrisisComm

@AndrewSmizcomm @ChandrikaCC I also appreciate Coombs outlook on crisis communication for the situational purpose, but I don't believe you could correctly utilize it without the categorization Benoit outlines. The two make a great pair, but Benoit is the base for me, which is why I chose him instead.

@ChandrikaCC I think that Benoit still has the better approach to deal with crisis management and restoring image. I agree with Coombs that strategies and severity should match, but high severity can still have more or less compatible strategies #CrisisImage #MUCrisisComm

@ChandrikaCC The initial aids epidemic in 1981 was met by initial reactions of stigmatizing messages towards gay men. Pictured here is the activist group ACT UP, founded in 1987, protesting in 1989 in New York City to change the narrative. #StigmaMessage #MUCrisisComm

@BryantAnaclaire @CharekaHawkMU I am appreciative of this weeks tweet assignment because it is again highlighting the many troubles in less fortunate countries that I personally never hear about or over look. Thank you for sharing

@TheChristian888 @ChandrikaCC This really saddens me to hear as well. Reminders are everywhere, but typically not at this magnitude today. That is so I thought. I hope that the correct precautionary measures are taken to ensure that this does not become a reality.

Note: I just realized I incorrectly did this weeks tweet. Expanding on my article, this is not yet a cyber incident but could be. As digital as our world has become this would create an imminent and highly problematic issue to face

@ekm4hz @ChandrikaCC Evelyn, I think that risk communication would be the most noble one to do. It is more challenging to me to communicate and persuade those with low outrage level rather than defusing high levels of outrage. Especially with higher risk where outrage management is much lower.

@ChandrikaCC #Reaction1 If I was in charge of 1 of Sandman's 4 types of risk communication, I would choose PR. The high hazard, low outrage nature of this type appeals to me due to the fact that it is based around mass media communication and overall message development

@WDNulty @ChandrikaCC Will, I also chose outrage management. I think the low hazard would also make me more comfortable to hear people out knowing that what transpires would likely not be detrimental to them.

@ChandrikaCC I'd choose Outrage Management that I would be best at. Because the hazard is low I could listen well to the public's outrage to understand where they are coming from. #Reaction1
