Now that Maxence Lacroix has arrived at Chelsea, it feels like the writing is on the wall for Trevoh Chalobah. And this is the brutal reality of football… old has to go for new to come. Chalobah has given everything when called upon. Stepped in during tough periods, showed versatility, scored big goals, and never hid when the pressure was on. He might not be the flashiest name, but there’s a reliability and connection to the badge that fans respect. But Lacroix? He brings a different profile entirely. Pace, recovery speed, physical dominance, and the ability to defend large spaces — exactly what modern systems demand. Especially if Chelsea are building a high line and aggressive structure, his attributes fit that vision perfectly. So now the real question, Blues… are we upgrading, or are we letting go of someone who still had a role to play? Is Chalobah actually better in terms of composure and understanding of the club? Or is Lacroix simply the higher ceiling player that takes us to the next level? Because sometimes in football, it’s not just about who is better today… it’s about who fits tomorrow. Have Chelsea made the right call? 🤔💙
