Good news - ASHP installation has received planning permission Bad news - installation is looking like March / April 2024 because demand has increased since the boiler upgrade scheme grant has increased to £7,500

@speak2thegeek @OctopusEnergy @SKinnock @DavidReesMS @g__j On our heat pump journey the council have requested noise attenuation to be fitted, we are 1dB over the 42dB allowed by the MSC calculation. Measuring the background noise level via an iPhone app in SE London it’s more like 47dB and goes up to 60dB when a plane goes over head.

@climateguardian @GivEnergy @OctopusEnergy The Octopus R&D app used to work perfectly but they made a change to change the export setting from full export to meet home demand 🤷‍♂️ I’ve switched over to home assistant with GivTCP which works well.

@version7 @OctopusEnergy @g__j It's the whole planning process which is quite daunting really. At the moment I imagine the majority of people would have to go through it especially in Wales. Can't be within 3m of the boundary? How many people have a clear 3m outdoor space around their home to put that!?

Getting an ASHP from @OctopusEnergy & local authority planning is a nightmare. BUS grant is great but pointless if we give up due to red tape. Those less stubborn than me would've given up months ago. Gov needs to relax permitted dev conditions as a priority @g__j have a word :)

@OctopusEnergy I have just requested a change from Go and SEG to Flux. The Flux Import has converted over almost straight away, but still waiting for export. Why does it take longer given DNO and MCS are already validated with SEG?

Race number arrived today for @BrightonMarathn but still no email about park and ride options 🤷‍♂️

@OctopusEnergy Can you just have IO and schedule the charger to the 6 hour window, or is the key part passing over control of charging to you?

@OctopusEnergy is Intelligent Octopus suited for households with EV, battery and solar? Currently I set my charger to charge during Go times which prevents the battery from draining, but is this possible when you control when the EV charges?

@OctopusEnergy It’s an interesting tariff, but a much higher overnight charging rate for the EV compared to Go/IO. We don’t have much export as divert solar generation to battery, immersion heater and EV so good export rates don’t really offset.

@jonnybeadle @g__j It’s based on average usage in that hour over the past 10 days. I’m like you on a battery so either draw during Octopus Go hours or solar generated, so we don’t use any electricity during peak hours. It would be nice to get Octopoints but savings are from only paying 7.5p/KwH.

@g__j Hi Greg, I assume as I have battery storage and my "typical" draw from the grid is ~0kw anyway during this sort of peak time, there is little benefit to me taking part in this schema? (As it compares against typical usage)

You wouldn't know it from the headline, but scroll to the end and "94% of tweets positive or neutral" (34% +ve, 6% -ve) so positive outweighed negative almost 6:1 Ofc it's not for everyone- like "reduced to clear" in supermarkets but bargains add up & make a real difference

@BiffyClyro tonight! First time I saw them was 2003 (I even found a photo from that era!) then loads at uni. I think my last time was Barrowlands 2014 for the BoS/Puzzle night.

@bobbyllew It’s crazy I bought a new build 7 months ago. It has 3Kwh worth of panels but it’s the bare minimum to achieve a set EPC rating for the property. Could easily have double the panels. Just got a battery installed will need to top up w/ Octopus Go instead of being self sufficient!
