My children have no cousins. My husband is one of six, the oldest two had kids but they are grown and live in different states. One sibling is gay and the other is single at 40 and left his job to be a twitch streamer. My sister is married but hasn’t had kids yet at 35. My aunt and uncle didn’t have kids either, my uncle didn’t get married until 50 and my aunt had a hysterectomy due to medical reasons. Funny enough now that I’m pushing 40 my uncle has a son not much older than my son and my aunt adopted a girl around my daughter’s age.

It's crazy how having only one child just erases a whole extended family. All it takes is your only child marrying another only child and all the sudden BAM no aunts no cousins no uncles. I know kids like this!

@hell_line0 100000% agree with having an advocate & that healthcare providers make mistakes, have unconscious biases, etc. But depending on this surgery, Tylenol could make sense. We do total joint replacements w/o narcotics afterward due to the opioid epidemic & trying to prevent addiction

Friend texting me after surgery: They're trying to give me just tylenol. Me: Tell them that's not the plan agreed upon pre-op and failure to address pain appropriately is associated with worse treatment outcomes. Her: did that and they say they will give me meds but not the ones effective for me. Me: Mk tell them you'd like the charge nurse to review the treatment plan. Her: I did that and they just asked who I'm talking with rn. Can I say you're my lawyer? Me: Nah tell them I'm your advocate. And then tell them that you have a lawyer on retainer if they wanted his info (she does have one). Her: Did that. Her: They're giving me the right meds. Her: The charge nurse said she'd handle things and asked that I let you know there will not be issues going forward. Me: Let her know I expect there to not be but that I operate on-call.

There's no good civic argument for the electoral college. It was arguably necessary to ensure the ratification of the Constitution, but it's an anti-democratic device that gives some American citizens far more voting power than others, based purely on where they live.

I have been contacted by Swalwell’s office and informed that he will be submitting his letter of resignation shortly, with an effective date of Friday, so that he may transfer his staff and office administratively to the House Clerk. I am hearing the same will be done regarding Gonzalez. I have my motion to expel ready to go and am waiting on his official letter. Once I receive it, I will formally withdraw my motion. We want to ensure the staff is taken care of, therefore, I will be accepting the letter once it is sent.

It’s not that many evangelicals are consciously choosing Trump over Jesus. It’s more subtle than that. They’ve come to believe that Trump’s way is not fundamentally at odds with the way of Jesus.

Was reading the @nytimes piece in the paper this morning about Lauren Sanchez Bezos and Jeff Bezos. I think it’s very clear that she makes his life much better. They wake up each morning and don’t immediately get on their phones but name 10 things they’re grateful for instead. They watch the sunrise and drink coffee. She, out of a mug that says “woke up sexy as hell again.” She comes across as ridiculously happy, whimsical and confident. She loves kids and even encourages her friends to have them. “Do it! I would have another one tomorrow.” She’s feminine but also is highly respected by him for her thoughts. And both of them rely on each other’s advice. It’s very obvious to see why a billionaire, who has a ton of options, would want to marry someone like her. As you age, you can’t lose if you stay joyful, happy, and in love.

Just had an hour long conversation with my biological father. He feels very guilty about giving me up. Said, I don’t need guilt about the past. I just need him to accept me as his daughter, which the man he left me with couldn’t do. He said he could do that. 😭
