#ViksitDelhi

Gautam Gambhir said he wouldn’t have had a problem even if Arshdeep Singh hadn’t apologised, adding that a certain level of aggression comes naturally when you represent your country.

After Palava bridge fiasco, a “new” bridge in Pune. Embarrassing. Now ask yourself why a common man should support new-infra building. Cost is high. Quality is low. Time to construct is long. Inconvenience is severe meanwhile. And every time you drive on it - you feel cheated.

This is such a strange argument. A sporting culture that didn’t give Jasprit Bumrah? The captain of that Gujarat Ranji team - Axar played most of his Ranji cricket in Ahmedabad. Sunny’s 10000th run, Kapil’s 432nd record breaker, Sachin’s 1st ever 200 all happened in a’bad. Saw the last one live in the stadium.

I had met a patient 2 weeks back. Conversation came up about cricket. He said he had already booked a train to Baroda and also a hotel room for today. By road it’s a short drive to the stadium. He said if India comes to finals, he will go. Ahmedabad hotels become too expensive. “And tickets?” “Bahut bada stadium hai, last moment pe pe mil jaati hai” #IndvsNzfinal

Eden Gardens has the lowest cost of tickets from what I see. For an all important semi final, I see that a lot of stands are available on match day. I think Eden is good for non marquee contests and marquee contests in non-knockouts phase. I see similar crowd interest for the Aus v SA semi final in CWC2023 as I see today for the NZ v SA T20WC26. Eden for knockouts makes for a good argument owing to the capacity and the history it has, but sadly it’s not a full house. This might actually be different if such a non-India semi final went to Chepauk or Bangalore. Just a food for thought. Not comparing stadiums or getting into city wars. Just a question whether Eden deserves a semi-final, after looking at tickets being available
