Speaking as an RAF veteran who served throughout the 70's and 80's when we still had a military worthy of the name, I feel nothing but sadness for the Royal Navy at the moment.
Once the greatest naval power on earth, they have been reduced to a sideshow by successive governments. Shame on them all.
