The Globe and Mail reports today that Tim Hortons plans to open 80 new locations in Canada. What the report doesn’t really mention is how many locations have quietly closed in recent years. Expansion numbers only tell part of the story.

The recent court decision in Waterloo Region is letting a homeless encampment stand in the way of transit, homes and jobs that Ontario badly needs. It’s a ridiculous decision that I hope is swiftly overturned. If not, Ontario is prepared to use every tool at our disposal to move this project forward.

As a potential leadership candidate, there is only so much that is appropriate for me to say regarding the what transpired in Scarborough Southwest. Firstly, I believe the party is correct that under party rules, the election was compliant. I’ve been “reassured” that nominations across political parties have long been “messy”. And of course, I know that to be true. But, that doesn’t mean we should accept these standards, and learn nothing. Moving forward, I believe that Elections Ontario should be given the mandate to run nominations for official parties under existing voting rules (Eg. 18+, citizenship required). This is a simple, common sense way to improve trust across parties. Until then, I will advocate for our party to align to this direction. Secondly, none of this has prioritized the people of Ontario, or the residents of Scarborough Southwest we seek to represent. It has reflected poorly on everyone. We cannot show Ontario we have a government-in-waiting with agenda focused on their needs and dreams when we keep re-litigating the past. We must be clear on giving Ontarians a future they can believe in. Finally, Nate’s future is his to decide, so I won’t comment on that. But either way, I know many good people on Team Nate who have made huge contributions to our party. We should take their feelings of alienation very seriously. I would encourage everyone involved to be forgiving of one another, not as an official process but a personal one. It will take all of us to build a winning coalition and vision for the next election.

Why do readers track the number of books they've read? Does anyone count how many works of art they've seen? How many symphonies they've heard? How many plays watched?

.@Yvan_Baker calls himself a "straight shooter" but he's not being straight with his constituents. During his time in politics, his government closed 7 jails! We are fixing that, adding 10 jails and 1,000 new beds across Ontario.

@charmreduction Wasn't she like uber-pushed by the New York houses that were looking for 'internet-literature' for awhile? Idk, it always kinda struck me as a product of that insular scene that produced 'Girls' and Chapo. Astroturfed, in other words

@blehblehilybleh to be honest, i did not hate the book. i felt it was basically "ok" and certainly better than some indie stuff. but very surprising for a big publisher. as there is also a lot of better indie stuff.

@charmreduction Tried my first book. I actually liked the first few stories, but a lot of what's in there isn't cohesive enough to be anything more than a fragment

@ICcrapdaily @FoodProfessor bub, unlike you, i back up every single thing i say. you do not have the relevant experience to comment on the media industry. it really is that simple. it would be the same as you trying to tell a bus driver about their job. stay in your lane, and you might learn something

lol, your life experience is a toilet full of like minded floaters… while you try to constantly reassure yourself that your closed minded approach to life is anything but a short ride to the therapy couch since you can’t sell your obtuse ideas to anyone except to your overinflated opinion of yourself.
