You’re right if this game was played in a vacuum. But it wasn’t. “Mentality” is revealed in just one match.
Arteta and his teams have had issues with finishing the job and playing better when the pressure is on. There’s just too much evidence from the last several seasons.

I struggle to connect with the anger towards the players / manager today. Forest, Wolves, Bournemouth? Easy. But I don’t think I saw any mentality issues away at the Etihad. Just saw elite quality win a 50/50 tie, while a team missing their best, clearly missed their best. Øde, Eze, Kai all just coming back and not at their best yet. Saka, Cala, Timber all still missing. And we still had the chances to win it regardless of all that quality lost. I feel more confident in this team winning out from here than I did last week, and still believe City have at least one more slip in them with fixtures like Everton and Bournemouth away. Till the end we go 🫡

I seriously don’t know how to feel right now.
When I find myself trying to be positive, it sounds and feels like just a bunch of “cope”
When I get negative. It feels like I’m being nothing but toxic.
Of course the schadenfreude from cynical fans of other clubs makes it worse.

They had me starting to believe, starting to think my doubts about winning anything under Arteta were unfair and irrational.
Then this month. We’ve been told by others that something was wrong with him and his teams. I just treated it as haters BS.

The league has to understand that this type of field is a disservice that only helps against soccer in the US. MLS teams SHOULD NEVER be allowed to play in a field with American football lines.
