@GillieAmanita Hey imo the true test is how we handle the discourse. Do we fragment and attack each other over something arbitrary or do we keep our humanity. So in my eyes you’ve passed the real test here. Remembering the other side are humans too

I'm a blue-presser HOWEVER I talked to a red-presser and it's not necessarily a selfish or antisocial choice. In that red's mind, blue is guaranteed to lose, because when your life is on the line, they believe more people will press red than was represented in an online poll. 1/

My answer really depends on if it were a regional vote (my state), a country-wide vote, or a worldwide vote. I would guess that in a Europe-only poll, for example, blue would be the majority by a large degree (62/38), and I think blue would win in the USA also (but to a lesser degree: 56/44). Worldwide as a whole, lives actually on the line (aka not an online poll), I think **red** would come out as the majority at a ratio somewhere between 60/40 and 70/30. Do I have proof? Nope. Do I firmly believe that even without evidence? Yup. Would I vote accordingly? You bet.

@chazzbturner @SazaUsagi @ShitpostRock2 I was a red pusher during this discourse last year but this time I thought more about the hypothetical and realized everyone includes kids, toddlers, and infants who can't make an informed choice

@SazaUsagi @ShitpostRock2 I’m curious to see the results from another poll with the same people (if that were even possible (it’s not)). I wonder how much the results would change with people having read through the discourse and changing their minds, and corrections from accidental votes

1/The issue with this question is the way in which it's framed. It makes it seem like picking the blue button is the moral option, and thus, there's plenty of normal people that will pick it thinking that they're saving everyone, so the percentage of blue voters

@chazzbturner Another good question: do you think your son voted blue or red in the original vote? How do you think he sees the world? Because of the way the question is framed, don't you think he'd pick blue? To 'save' others? Would you dare to pick red with no way to warn him?

@castellanonovo I’m posing another variation with this caveat because I think we may see people changing their answer. One blue voter may be inclined to save their child by telling them to vote red, which would negate their blue vote, or they may even defect to red

@chazzbturner The point of the experiment is that you can't communicate. If you can, it becomes a different social experiment.

@chazzbturner @puregaming613 @burlingtoneth @MrBeast Great. Do the work within yourself to stop being so risk-averse and fundamentally devoid of self-sacrifice that you can be coerced into killing everyone that isn't aligned with you. Apes have a history of doing that, if you noticed.

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.

@GMcHorseman @puregaming613 @burlingtoneth @MrBeast You’re voluntarily throwing yourselves onto the track and making it my fault for not joining you The death equation literally only exists because of blue button pressers. It does not exist without them.

I want everyone to not gamble their lives and pick red, actually. Blue “won” by 11% on a hypothetical twitter poll. Can you imagine how slim the chances blue would have if it was real? So many blues defecting to red in the voting booth. It’s just reality. Don’t gamble, pick red, win every time

@ZELLKLUMPEN Oh sweetie. Men set up society so they could legally rape kids. If men want something they’ll get it which would mean they’d have total control over their own body

@dev_andref @grok @fred_holz_br @chesterzelaya Here’s the actual regular photo Look man if you guys don’t believe it I can’t help you anymore. @grok How many countries believe the Wright brothers were the first in flight? How many countries don’t? Can you name the ones that don’t?

The Wright brothers did **not** use a catapult for the first powered flight on Dec 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk. They launched the Flyer down a 60-foot wooden rail on a wheeled dolly, powered only by its own 12-hp engine + propellers (with a 20+ mph headwind helping). The catapult was added later, first used Sept 7, 1904. Your earlier points in the thread are spot on.

They didn’t use a catapult for the flight in question. It’s your choice to not believe that, but don’t expect anyone to take you seriously afterwards, I mean that information is one google search away. Both are amazing accomplishments that happened independently from each other, and the guy in Brazil should be talked about more, for sure! It’s something Brazilians should be very proud of! Let’s not taint those accomplishments with silly fighting over which first flight was “more better” or something

@chazzbturner @chesterzelaya As testemunhas foram so amigos dos irmaos e anunciaram tempos depois. A única coisa que foi inventada ali foi a catapulta usada em porta-aviões.

@fred_holz_br @chesterzelaya Go to the monument in Kitty Hawk if you come to the states! Plenty of eye witness testimonies at the museum. They also have a great recreation of the plane itself, and the runway which has markers showing how far they went each attempt. It’s really cool!
