Curious if anyone knows if there was a legit reason for this (downed trees, wires, car accident) or was it just a power trip.

Anddd the east highway is blocked off by police that pretty much ends my chase

@AaronRigsbyOSC This is not the version that will go live later in the year. Supposedly the later update is better.

@nmjameswilson Nope. A pair is the best way to chase. One just driving, one navigating, looking at data etc. chasing solo is more dangerous.

TBH the best are the ones that do it all themselves. No chase partners to throw ideas off of. No talking back and forth on radios. No team behind them helping them out. True chasers are 100% solo and that is a lost art.

The best storm chasers in the world are the ones genuinely happy to be out. It’s not the chasers with the most views, the most money, or the most tornadoes.

DISTRACTED DRIVING. This was from my chase this past Sunday.
This is especially for solo grinders. We all do it. We're checking radar, we're checking the phone, we're chatting on our radios, all of the tasks involved with chasing are numerous.
The road is empty...noone is around...or so we think.
At a moments notice, an abandoned vehicle sits half on the road. Thankfully I looked up, as we often do...but still, had I been locked into my screen for just a second or two longer...or if someone was coming in the other lane, or if it was raining.
Its impossible to avoid the many distractions we face. But try, try and TRY.

@lorigracewx @Becca_Furnish I have never really “monetized” my chasing for 30 + years. I may try and sell a few photos but that would be the extent of it. I simply just love storms.

@VORTEXJeff @tornadopaigeyy SPC had the right idea at first with a 2% tornado risk. But then boosted it to 5%. Not sure why.

How far has the US National Weather Service fallen? At 12z on 5/10, the Mexican Servicio Meteorologico Nacional has a far more robust Upper Air data set than the US. 10 states from AZ/NM to Canada have ZERO data. This w/an elevated risk of severe wx across much of TX.#txwx

@MattBlueThunder @AaronRigsbyOSC Which is one reason I try to not “punch” storms.

@barbini_wx My wife often is lookin at plants to identify instead of the storm lol.

Hey #wxtwitter ! I've been seeing a handful of stormchasers post some of the flora and fauna they've come across while on the road, so I made a project on iNaturalist! Feel free to put any of your finds during a chase on it.
