Today the “El Reno all over again” crowd finally has a legitimate analog and I haven’t seen any of you say it, what was happened to the chaser community

@nmjameswilson Nope. A pair is the best way to chase. One just driving, one navigating, looking at data etc. chasing solo is more dangerous.

TBH the best are the ones that do it all themselves. No chase partners to throw ideas off of. No talking back and forth on radios. No team behind them helping them out. True chasers are 100% solo and that is a lost art.

DISTRACTED DRIVING. This was from my chase this past Sunday. This is especially for solo grinders. We all do it. We're checking radar, we're checking the phone, we're chatting on our radios, all of the tasks involved with chasing are numerous. The road is empty...noone is around...or so we think. At a moments notice, an abandoned vehicle sits half on the road. Thankfully I looked up, as we often do...but still, had I been locked into my screen for just a second or two longer...or if someone was coming in the other lane, or if it was raining. Its impossible to avoid the many distractions we face. But try, try and TRY.

@lorigracewx @Becca_Furnish I have never really “monetized” my chasing for 30 + years. I may try and sell a few photos but that would be the extent of it. I simply just love storms.

Imagine if all monetization was immediately stopped for any chaser. Who's left out there? Would you still chase for the thrill of the chase?

Drives me absolutely CRAZY when people call something a “bust” when we had 75mph winds and baseball to softball sized hail 😩

How far has the US National Weather Service fallen? At 12z on 5/10, the Mexican Servicio Meteorologico Nacional has a far more robust Upper Air data set than the US. 10 states from AZ/NM to Canada have ZERO data. This w/an elevated risk of severe wx across much of TX.#txwx

Really wanted to chase today since it’s a Saturday in May, but after reviewing the models I have pretty high confidence that today will be a BUST. We should just all STAY HOME and watch the NBA playoffs and prepare for Mother’s Day.

@WxScholl You really didn’t miss anything. All the tornadoes were heavily embedded. I see very few reports from chasers that saw much except rain.

Big swing and a miss today, had a multitude of tech failures along with my power inverter getting fried and a weird smell coming from my AC. Pretty much missed everything. Really hoping everyone who was affected by today’s storms is ok. Dixie does what Dixie wants sometimes…

When the storm you are about to core punch goes from 1.75 to 4" in 3 scans...
