working on a booklet for my y11s for revision about how to write an essay, which will explain each part of the process as we teach it in my department - if you are looking to move away from the sad PEE paragraph, this will be done by the end of the week🥰

By far the best way to tackle SEN support is to begin by ensuring schools are calm, safe, structured environments with high expectations of dignity, and clear boundaries, consequences, and reasonable accommodations. This is what every child-especially SEN children- needs to flourish. Teach the behaviour curriculum in order to scaffold good conduct, and the outcomes are transformed.

"What about when they get to KS4?" and "Will they have built up enough writing stamina?" But what does that actually mean? You can not write at length about anything unless you have: ✅️ Knowledge of content ✅️ Knowledge of discourse structure ✅️ A combination of both /2

It's been a privilege to be an Oracy Commissioner, and our report is out! All children need to learn *through* talk, *to* talk, and *about* talk. This needs many, varied & connected aspects of education – from sure foundations in early years to sustained work in adolescence.
Oracy Education Commission@oracycommission

We need to talk about oracy—what it is, why it matters, and why it matters now, in particular. We are proud to share the final report from The Oracy Education Commission, including our findings and recommendations. We need to talk👇 bit.ly/OEC-report

This week's department meeting focused on Feedback & Feedforward, focusing on how to use it properly to further students' learning rather than making it more work for the teacher! Featuring some further reading from Dylan William and @XpatEducator #Feedback

Excited to be sharing our T&L Playbook with staff @LHS_HighSchool this week. In Teaching Labs and Practice Labs, we’re revisiting Active Observation, thinking about templates we can use to gain purposeful information and data for responsive teaching! 🤓 #TheLongdendaleLegacy
