A dark, dark, future lies in front of us. A future where you can receive a phone call presenting you with an ultimatum; to be killed in your car with your family or to get out and run only to be chased and killed by a drone controlled by a psychotic teenager sitting in a bunker a few kilometres away. What is being tested on us today will be used on you tomorrow.
fatima bhutto 🇵🇸🇱🇧🇮🇷@fbhutto

This young man received a call from the Israeli military saying he could either die alone or in the car with his family. He ran into a field alone and was murdered by one of their drones. This is the future Israel wants for the entire world. They cannot have it.

Signs are pointing to a higher likelihood of a framework agreement between the US and Iran being secured through Pakistan in the next few days. To be followed by another 30-60 days for a final agreement. That is indeed an achievement, but it is important to understand how vulnerable the final agreement will be in that 30-60 day window to Israeli sabotage. If past patterns are repeated, Israel will do everything in its power to prevent any deal that ends the US-Iran enmity and lifts sanctions on Iran. If he really wants the deal, Trump will have to be tougher on Netanyahu than he has ever been before.

Lebanon is being destroyed. My homeland is being destroyed. Israel has destroyed nearly 38,000 Lebanese homes, almost 1,100 every day for 35 days. Israel has targeted 120 ambulances and medical facilities, killed at least 91 health personnel and wounded 208. Israel has killed 7 journalists and 3 UN peacekeepers. Israel has bombed all bridges. Detonating schools. Towns and villages flattened. Israel has killed over 2,200 and displaced more than 1.3 million people, including 400,000 children. This not only violates the Geneva Conventions, but violates the whole of international law with absolutely no consequences. How many more Lebanese need to be murdered? How many more children need to be killed? How many more journalists and health workers have to be killed? How many more people have to be displaced? How many more hospitals and schools have to be bombed? Before we force Israel to stop?

Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and I had a warm and productive first conversation today. I shared the NDP’s concerns about the cost-of-living crisis facing Canadians, including the creepy practice of surveillance pricing. I raised the urgent need to stop the privatization of health care by dusting off and actually enforcing the Canada Health Act. And I reiterated our position that Canada must take a clear moral stand against illegal wars (and the countries that start them) in this age of impunity. It was a forthright and friendly exchange — and it made me feel encouraged about the prospects of a little old school respectful political debate in this country. Maybe I’m just nostalgic for the kind of politics I've watched my parents practice throughout their lives — always soft on people, hard on the issues. I think that’s what the country needs right now. But honestly? I don’t see politics in terms of access to the powerful. Making the changes we need depends on how much momentum we can build behind solutions that confront power and benefit the 99%. That’s the real work. And it’s going to take all of us.

Israel is a depraved society far surpassing the racist brutality of the South African apartheid state. It is a criminal entity the likes of which I have never seen before … & I grew up in apartheid South Africa

Five Israeli prison guards who raped a Palestinian inmate-hostage at the notorious torture camp Sde Teiman are being return to military service. Rape of prisoners is widely supported by the Israeli public, politicians, law officers – and now officially by the Israeli army.

France allowed an Israeli indicted war criminal to fly above its air space but denied entry to a Palestinian human rights defender whom this war criminal’s govt describes as terrorist. This looks like French complicity in genocide. #Zionism #AlHaq #Palestine #France

We are outraged to learn that Canada has denied entry to officials from the Palestine Football Association ahead of FIFA pre-World Cup meetings in Vancouver. This is despite Canada’s host role and its recognition of the State of Palestine. Canada must reverse this arbitrary and discriminatory ban. theguardian.com/football/2026/…

Shameful decision from the French Government: The Decision to deny entry to Shawan Jabarin, veteran Palestinian human rights defender and General Director of Al-Haq, is both shameful and deeply troubling. Shawan is a human rights defender who has dedicated his life to pursuing justice for international crimes. He is denied entry into the Schengen area, while individuals wanted for war crimes and crimes against humanity are able to travel freely. This stark and absurd double standard should prompt urgent reflection among European states on their commitment to accountability and the consistent application of international justice. We call on the French Government to reverse its decision so that Shawan can travel to France. amnesty.org/en/latest/news…
