@CoachKatie_K We already did that, Katie! I know JB is obsessed with loyalty. But that’s not a path to success. I appreciate you but you are wrong. There’s a proven path to winning and it doesn’t involve artificially limiting the candidate pool to Cuse alums. Absurd.

Would Bryan Hodgson have gotten Syracuse back on track? Maybe. Could it have been a disastrous hire? Maybe. Could it open the door for someone that’s an even better fit for SU? Maybe. Is hiring Gerry/someone from the SU family a program death wish? Maybe. Could Gerry do it his own way and be successful even though he went to SU? Maybe. Time will tell 🤷🏻‍♂️

@Cuse_MBB (and the @BIGEASTMBB), for that matter, will never be the same. It was a golden era of college basketball. But if you have a coach who builds a top 15 team there, don’t tell me there won’t be 30,000 fans in the Dome on a Saturday night when @DukeMBB comes to town. They have to think big. @theACC

How does Providence have more resources than Syracuse? Let’s look at some actual numbers. Wall Street Journal (Apr 2025) valued programs after a season where Syracuse had a losing record: Syracuse — #7 in college basketball Revenue: $34.4M Enterprise value: $256M Cash flow: $16.4M Providence — #38 Revenue: ~$11–15M Enterprise value: $102M More context: Students: ~22k vs ~4.8k Endowment: $1.9B vs $1.3B Conference payout: $40–45M (ACC) vs ~$4–6M (Big East) Basketball attendance: ~20k vs ~11k Facts > narratives. 🍊

@cazlakefisher @OttosWorld365 @Orangebabeuno But Martelli Jr could be solid. Luke Murray is also a wildcard. He has the potential to be Hodgson 3 years ago before he blew up. High risk with no HC experience but high reward/ceiling. Helped build a championship level program and developed their innovative modern off. system.

@cazlakefisher @OttosWorld365 @Orangebabeuno I’m beyond depressed that we lost out on two home run hires in Schertz and Hodgson. Those were guys at the top of my list over a year ago when I wanted us to fire Red. Sounds like the in fighting amongst the big boosters and Lally may have torpedoed our chances.

I’m not overly concerned about losing out on Hodgson, but I’m overly concerned about rushing to hire gmac or Hopkins. Cuse needs to check off all the boxes and consider Luke Murray

@pauliescibilia He allowed the program he built to regress into mediocrity and failed to keep up with the times. He refused to step aside when he was no longer at peak performance and allow the AD to hand it off to a competent successor, and then pushed his “guys” to take over.

SU was ~$8 mil, and I bet if they needed to go to $10 for a specific player they would have made it happen. $8 mil got us the talent we needed. It was not a money problem. It's a bad narrative that is out there.

I’d like to thank John Wildhack, Jim Boeheim, Red Autry, and Alex Kline for ruining what was once one of the most storied programs in college basketball history. Absolutely unforgivable. I hate it here.

Now that Bryan Hodgson is out of the mix for the Syracuse opening, I would expect new AD Bryan Blair to focus on Siena coach and former ‘Cuse guard Gerry McNamara - who is taking the Saints to the NCAA tourney for the first time since 2010.

@pauliescibilia Who has bigger NIL than Cuse this offseason? Please enlighten us. This was the year that we were fortunately in the pole position on the coaching carousel and we blew it. Most of our peer programs and even those below us aren’t actually looking to replace their head coaches.

@kwallcuse When Cuse hire Bryan Blair as the AD he was the textbook definition of an outside hire. It could be a hunch but I could see Cuse going in a completely random direction at HC, maybe they land a name no one is thinking about

@OttosWorld365 Holloway is a bad offensive coach. Very bad. We need someone who’s going to run a fast and innovative offense. He’s just more of the same Red Autry nonsense. His only good offensive teams were when he has Kadary.

@BrentAxeMedia @ccaird29 Syracuse basketball should be able to get a far better coach than the football program. The basketball equivalent of Fran Brown isn’t going to cut it for this fanbase.

Not ideal. You never want to put all your eggs in one basket in these searches but I felt like Hodgson was the best candidate. Bryan Blair really has to nail this. syracuse.com/orangebasketba…

@44TheLegend @LO_Syracuse @jholzer52 I love you DC. I went to every game as a kid when you were there. But Hop had no clue as a head coach at Washington. He showed no ability in 7 seasons (7!!!) to run any semblance of a modern or visionary offense. Hodgson would be a home run as an offensive and defensive coach.

@NeilAdlerSU @LoudHouseFS You said “being formed” like it’s just starting. If they are smart, they targeted Hodgson months ago and this is all well underway. What’s the point of talking to candidates if you already know who you want and is the best fit. Maybe you have vetted a couple of backup options

omg Jimmy Kimmel just called out CBS at the Oscars and got a HUGE applause from the audience "As you know, there are some countries whose leaders don't support free speech. I'm not at liberty to say which. Let's just leave it at North Korea and CBS."

this was the most important Oscar speech of the night tbh "Mr. Nobody Against Putin is about how you lose your country. What we saw when working with this footage is that you lose it through countless small, little acts of complicity: when we act complicit when a government murders people on the streets of our major cities, when we don't say anything when oligarchs take over the media and control how we can produce it and consume it, we all face a moral choice. But luckily even a nobody is more powerful than you think."
