The cost to build a nice ballpark has gone up 742% since PNC Park was built (for $273 million).
CPI inflation is about 100% over the same time period. Stadium build costs are out of control

I have no idea if Ovi is retiring or not. If he is, all of the fans who threw a fit because the Penguins rested most of their regulars (in what was a meaningless game for them in the standings) can say that they witnessed Ovi's final NHL goal. Not a bad consolation prize.

Obviously it will matter a lot if these deals are renewed after the five years. FWIW, experts have told us that these deals tend to have inertia. They're hard to start but once they're going, orgs are incentivized to keep them going
