In Pennsylvania your county is listed on the ballot. In the GOP primary for Lt. Gov., John Ventre received 74% of the vote in his home county of Westmoreland, and a majority in four bordering counties. Losing the statewide vote by 30 points. (map from nytimes)

First vote dump out of Beaver County has slowed the Vodvarka momentum... Beaver County Sheriff Tony Guy won the 1,969 vote batch by 78 points. Vodvarka still leads with about a quarter of the vote in.

Lots of great data about the Pittsburgh region here... "The Pittsburgh MSA lost an estimated 34,924 residents between the 2020 Census and July 2025 ... making it one of only four of the nation’s 40 largest metro areas to record an outright population loss in 2024–2025."

@chwolfson Bringing in illegal immigrants should in no way count towards "growth".

News: Census Bureau estimates say Pittsburgh continued its modest 2020s growth from July 2024 to July 2025, adding 913 that year for a total of 307,632. That's 4,773 higher than the 2020 estimate. Big news considering many feared the city would drop under 300,000 in the decade.

But at least for now: Pittsburgh is on track for its first decade without population loss since 1950.

Big caveat: The latest estimate is for July 1, 2025. So the impact of the Trump administration's policies on immigration and refugee admissions may be more fully seen in next year's estimate. Pittsburgh's recent growth has depended on immigrants.

@chwolfson Not only that but the price increase per ticket over a 10 year period when they put a putrid product on the field is absurd. I can’t tell you how many awful Pirate teams I watched because Section 312-319 cost 16 (sometimes even cheaper on stubhub) bucks a ticket. Now they’re $41!

49-50, Senate fails to pass a measure to end Trump's war in Iran — but gets closer. 3 Rs vote YES: Paul, Collins, Murkowski. Murkowski is a flip, having voted no previously. 1 Dem votes NO: Fetterman. (For the first time he's the deciding vote here.) Ricketts missed the vote.

@_adamcrowley They didn’t sell out one game in September of 2015 when they were in a great battle with Cards for division title. Always seemed odd to me.
