Horner pleaded guilty to capital murder, but a juror will decide if he should be sentenced to death. Strand told the child, “Don't scream or I'll hurt you,” as he picked her up and put her in his truck. The child tried to fight Strand off during the attack—his DNA was found under her nails. Prosecutors added that his DNA was found, “in places where you shouldn't find DNA on a 7-year-old girl.” The girl’s mother is for the death penalty being implemented.

Linda Scott (75) went to speak with her neighbors to ask one of them to clean up after a dog. Moments later, another young woman who was with that neighbor allegedly attacked her, sending her to the hospital.
Police said the woman who carried out the attack fled the scene.
