Why does it cost upwards of £1K a week for someone to live in a care home? This is an extortionate amount of money. Why is this never investigated? Considering care workers earn a relatively low wage then there’s a lot of people out there making a lot of money out of people suffering.

@gill_frost @cjg2405 @andymardon @Jenny_1884 You have to fight them. Why they don’t want you to get this is beyond me. We had the care home mangeress on our side but at the beginning even she wasn’t aware of Continuing Care.

@hawkes13soozie @andymardon @Jenny_1884 My mother has end stage dementia, needs round the clock care, can’t move, can’t communicate, doubly incontinent, has gone from level 2 to level 3 thickening of liquids which has to be administered now by a tablespoon…and we are fighting the council to get CHC approved

@andymardon @Jenny_1884 Alzheimers is a condition that comes under Continuing Care. You do not pay for this. I know because my mother in law had this. It is the NHS best known secret.
