@Kwigabyanze It’s a fake. If you watch closely, the band is adjustable, like costume jewelry….

@HankFrank That’s part of the challenge of running Boston, you don’t know what’s going to happen. In 2012 I trained all winter, and on race day it was 91 degrees. Made it 17 miles and had to stop. Came back with a vengeance in 2013, made it to BC before I was stopped. 2014 I finally did it

@HankFrank I was training for Boston one year, got a stomach bug, knocked me on my ass for the last 2 weeks. I showed up cold to see what happens. I have never felt that good after a long run since. Trust your training, you’ll be amazed at what your body can do….

Shin update.
Took 2 days completely off running. Biked both days. Felt good this morning so I went out for an easy run.
First few miles were ok. Manageable. Not nearly as bad as my last run on Wednesday. Thought it was behind me.
Then around mile 8 the shin started talking. By mile 10 it was loud. Finished anyway because that’s what you do when your marathon is 16 days away and you’re scared.
I’ve dealt with this before. Aggravated tibialis anterior (I think). It calms down. It just needs time. The question is whether 16 days is enough.
Back to the bike. We’ll see.

Update on MFH:
Current pic of MFH. *I’m the same on the other sofa😁
Things have pretty much been the same the past 4-ish days.
His speech is consistent except when tired.
I think the hearing has improved maybe a little bit? One of his ears, the hearing took a hard hit.
Fatigue is the biggest issue at the moment. The past two days has involved driving to run errands. They had to be done so we did it but if at all possible, he stayed in the car (smart!) and when we got home he immediately took a nap.
He started wearing a heart monitor yesterday and they’ve already detected Afib. One of our errands was to pick up different meds. They thought his stroke was caused by a clot thrown from the heart during Afib. Looks like maybe they were right!
Neurologist and cardiologist appointments are 2 weeks out so he’s still not cleared for driving. Poor guy is putting up with my driving 😁
That’s where things stand☺️
