The political influence of the property and land ownership industry in Britain is so great that it wangled an exemption for itself from the Consumer Rights Act 2015. It does NOT have to treat consumers fairly and it fleeces them all the time.

But utilities and transport are covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 whereas property transactions are wholly exempted; makes #leasehold uniquely monopolistic for flats and multi-unit estates until #commonhold is widespread like everywhere else @Commonhold_Now

2/2 SC budget increase 43%, no audited certified accounts since 2020! Every year s20b used to avoid accountability and transparency of actual costs. Obfuscation. Broken lift and intercom front door unsecure - 6 months to repair. Emergency lights outage since 2021. Wild west sham.

@LiamSpender Water ingress from broken pipe, interior damage reported Nov 2021, repair botched, 2 years later unresolved, tenant reported to Liverpool City Council, who LivGroup gave 21 days to sort. Believe taking the council to court is good use of our SC!

8/8 The @RFAssociation could not care less about the quality of service from managing agents because they are not the ones dealing with the consequences. Regulation would help, but unless and until freeholders take responsibility for their agents nothing will change.
