I started my cleaning business 1 year ago today doing 100% of the cleans. I planned on starting my cleaning business as a side hustle while at my full time investment role. That quickly took a turn when I got fired shortly after buying my first home. I needed money quick, so I became a waiter at a local restaurant. I already had everything I needed to launch the business, just needed a little more money. I had $700. I bought all the supplies I needed to clean, as well as some door hangers. I would go door to door every single day and if they didn’t answer I would place door hangers. Fast forward to today, we have a great team and a solid client base. By starting the business cleaning myself, I developed clear expectations for our cleaners, as well as how hard the work actually is. We would probably be bigger had I not started out cleaning myself, but I don’t regret it. I’ve learned a hell of a lot since then. Why did you start your cleaning business?

Things are finally calming down for our cleaning business. Over the past month we have had: Double digit no shows from our team 90% of the team quitting Client loss as a result And failed with our first attempt at hiring a sales person

Cleaning biz owners who use thumbtack - Curious your thoughts. My prices on thumbtack have been inaccurate forever, much lower than we actually charge. I can’t decide if I would gain more from making the prices more accurate, or removing the prices overall. I’m worried our actual prices may scare some people away, and worried if we have no public pricing less people may inquire. What do we think?

I spent the better part of 6 months scrambling to find new cleaners basically weekly last year. Having too many leads than you know what to do with is a luxury. Don't you dare stop servicing new customers because you don't have the manpower. Do anything you need to do to hire more cleaners.

Currently on a Caribbean island on vacation. Waking up every day at 6am and grinding till 10am making sure ops and sales are dialed in… Yeah right. Joking. Completely MIA from the business. VAs running everything: ops, hiring, sales, all of it. Meanwhile, one of our best months ever 100k+. Most people build themselves a job. I built a business. Delegate everything. Stop working in it and start actually living.

@itsbhaveshp Our director of ops I would trust with my life. I look for people as hungry as I am. Someone that treats the business as their own. Not someone that shows up and just does tasks.

Cleaning Businesses, how are you guys handling this rn? Leads come in from ads, when VAs reach out, they are becoming uninterested OR dead. Reasons that I found out: ⟶ slow response times ⟶ poor follow-ups ⟶ delay in responding 36% of leads are going dead/ uninterested that were coming from ads. Any suggestions or solutions?
