@AvonandsomerRob These companies keep using classic names and producing cars that are absolutely nothing to do with the classic. Only exception is the Renault 5 which is a banger
English

@DudeWhoInvests The 'average' person (atleast in the UK) likely never reaches 250k, if they do it'll be near retirement
English

@Therichardralph 25 and my employer pension is somewhere over £55k rn, half way to the nice 6 figs
English

@_mahmiss On the flip side mine is 3 bed, 3 bath. Totally unnecessary
English

@cashflow_king94 I try with a couple. Mostly reluctant to follow my advice and even putting £25 into a stock triggers too many emotions for them
English

@eurostrategist @NXT4EU It's a bit of rubber that suctions to your bath/shower bro it doesn't need to be 'high end'
English

In Europe these are €2.99, why is everything in the US so ridiculously expensive?

Senator Angus King@SenAngusKing
Prevention measures like an $11 bath mat could save Americans tens of thousands of dollars. If Medicare would send these out to every recipient in America, I’ll bet the investment would pay for itself in under a year.
English

@judeinlondon My 'service charge' if you can even call it that is lumped into the rent and is literally like £6 or something so small I couldn't care less. It was actually lower this year as the HA didn't need as much funds for keeping the estate nice.
Rent increases as any rent does as well
English

@judeinlondon Lot of misconceptions in the replies here.
I pay £850pm, mostly mortgage (on a 40%). I am still building equity where a rental I wouldn't.
All pets are allowed. I can do any decorating I want.
I am still building equity & I can buy 100% when my mortgage renews 🤷♂️

@KieranT1000 @2147mill Nothing wrong with an old X5, drive it til it blows up
English

@tw_crypto_ Makes no sense to me that he is charging that kind of money and has a 10m port. Just retire bro
English

@rickycoleman_ Only 700? I've seen ground rents in the multiple thousands on some properties
English

Ouch. A file I have recently been instructed on has a lease with a ground rent of over £700, which makes me wonder how such agreements ever see the light of day #leasehold #leaseholdreforms

English

@patienceisfree @InvestGlobalX Berkshire without Buffet seems like a dangerous play, they just went in on Google at ATHs, interesting state
English

@crochet_mom314 And this doesn't even account for investing that money and making gains
English

Let's test that. If an 18 year old saves $26 a day by eating the cheap sandwich instead of the $28 lunch mentioned, that's $9,490 a year. In five years, that's $47,450 if you save NOTHING else. That's a 20% down payment for a $230k home at 23. If you wait until 28, it's $94.9k.
LadyoftheLake@LadyoftheLakefr
a cheap aldi sandwich isnt gonna buy them a home
English

@2147mill 8% utilising the full 20k is actually pretty big tbh. 1666+ per month spare to whack into the ISA isn't any small feat
English

@_LamNam_ Suppose so, could also be bypassed by a pre-set TP or SL and only blocks manual sells
English

@cloudbets_ That would be the risk you would be taking. I’d imagine if you had a TP on then it wouldn’t be a feature you’d use on that stock. But something where you plan to hold 20 years, not so much.
English

Idea for a new feature on Trading 212: a customisable 'sell-lock' option, similar to the cooling-off periods used in responsible gambling.
Imagine being able to set a period, from a couple of weeks to several years, where you simply cannot sell your investments.
This would prevent panic selling during market downturns, helping you stay focused on your long-term goals by removing the temptation to make emotional trades.
Would you find a feature like this useful for your own portfolio?

@garethherincx @GeelyAutoGlobal Rear end looks like a Porsche Cayenne or something - would put money on it being a Porsche if someone showed me that without the badges ngl
English

My introduction to new Chinese brand #Geely continues. This time it's a week in the Starray EM-i - a family-sized plug-in hybrid priced from just £29,990
