Tamilnadu assembly elections 2026. Latest. We are in slog overs and my final tweet will be next week. 1. Time to repeat what I say often. 2. No poll or no pollster in India has any guarantee. Pollsters fail way too often and I am a bit lucky with less failures in last many state elections. It is widely acknowledged that Tamilnadu is a hard state to poll. This is because people tend to be quite fickle and can change votes at last minute. 3. There is a bunch ready to vote by taking money. 4. Already quite some controversies have come up. Money distribution caught on camera in Sivakasi, postal vote intimidation in Karaikudi, 8000 coupon controversy in Palacode and other places. 5. Having said above, we see clear signs of a change wave which is mainly due to fatigue with two parties. Youngsters and women seem to be driving this change in TN. Quite some political analysts seem stunned by the massive crowds drawn by Vijay. 6. My personal view has always been to remove the crowd decibel. Crowd decibel and noise can be infectious but a pollster needs to keep a balanced head and poll neutrally. 7. Tamilnadu -234 seats. 8. 35361 voters heard. Have added quite some video survey voters and Insta survey voters. But note I am selective. 9. NDA- 11 seats. Seems terrible for my party alliance. But note my estimates is 180 degrees from some other estimates for Nda which are giving upto 150 for Admk and even 20 for Bjp. Yesterday saw a show on NewsX. Fantastic. 10. DMK- 23 seats. There is bad anti incumbency on DMK and yet they seem to be surviving a bit. 11. TVK- 163 seats. 12. Undecided-37 seats. 13. Last trip to TN coming soon. I have scheduled a personal interview with Admk SPVelumani. 14. Thanks for all interactions, challenges, counters, mild trolling. 15. I will be unblocking some 2 dozen guys or more guys whom I blocked in last year. They will be blocked before counting. 16. Many people wish bad for me, I am amazed at such poor attitude. I would never wish bad for anyone, yes I may be cursing few under my breadth, but I know it is wrong. 17. We are all Indians and nobody has permanent rights to rule a state. People should be courteous. 18. Please wait for weekend for the final trip stats. 19. I will resume Uttar Pradesh 2027 elections next week. Many of my outside TN followers are waiting eagerly and I apologize to them. 20. Tamilnadu has been without doubt the most fascinating ever an election for me to analyze in my lifetime. Thanks all.

John has executed a remarkably disciplined and modern campaign strategy. Together with Vijay (anna), they’ve given the 2026 Tamil Nadu election a completely new tone and narrative something we haven’t seen in decades. Key strategic moves: 1. Clear binary framing : DMK vs TVK They successfully reduced the battlefield into a direct contest, sidelining other parties and forcing voters to think in terms of change vs continuity. 2. Strategic continuity over risky experimentation : Instead of pushing untested ideologies, they mirrored and reinterpreted popular DMK positions but positioned TVK as a more efficient and future-ready executor. 3. Controlled visibility of Vijay : Keeping anna relatively limited in speeches created curiosity and anticipation. This scarcity increased his perceived value and drew neutral voters to “explore” him more. 4. Emotional recall using MGR legacy : Subtle alignment with MGR symbolism helped tap into AIADMK’s emotional voter base, especially among older and rural segments. 5. Modernized Jayalalithaa-style leadership projection : Vijay was framed with shades of Amma’s decisive leadership but adapted for today’s generation, making it relatable without feeling outdated. 6. Governance-first narrative instead of ideology-first : Rather than ideological debates, TVK positioned itself as a ”system reformer” focusing on delivery, efficiency, and accountability. The manifesto reflected global standards (Singapore, Switzerland models), which appealed strongly to urban and aspirational voters. 7. Youth-first energy and branding : TVK built a strong emotional connect with first-time voters and the 20s–30s demographic through digital campaigns, cinematic influence kind of songs like kolgai song, kodi song , ungal Vijay song and campaign song ( whistle anthem ) and aspirational messaging. 8. Anti-incumbency channeling without aggression : Instead of direct attacks, they subtly amplified public dissatisfaction and positioned themselves as the natural upgrade rather than a disruptive risk. 9. Family-level political conversations : Their messaging intentionally sparked debates within households between generations which organically expanded campaign reach beyond rallies and media. 10. Cinema-to-politics transition handled carefully : Unlike past attempts, Vijay’s shift was framed not just as a star entering politics, but as a leader prepared with structure, advisors, and long-term vision. This election has now become more than a political contest it’s a generational shift: 60s + 70s + 75s → Traditional Dravidian loyalty vs 80s + 90s + 20s → Aspirational, change-driven voters When this debate happens inside families, it becomes deeply emotional rather than purely rational and that’s where elections are often decided. In 2026, logic will matter… but emotion might matter even more ❤️ Good luck JV @tvkvijayhq and JA @JhonArokiasamy
