@JamesDYodice Thanks for creating these lists James, they are fun to look at, compare and debate but the homage is great.

Coming Sunday: The Journal's All-Metro Football Teams. My list of the Top 25 from the First 25, and boy is that item bound to get some tongues wagging. I will confess, part of that list (a small part) was constructed to get some conversation going.

I definitely know I’m old now. When I see people post themselves inside clubs, all the loud music, drinking and shenanigans, I legit get anxiety. That part of my life was fun, but I want no parts of that ever again. Catch me at home before midnight

“Sorry Coach. We need to go to this other facility. It’s much more sport specific.” The training:

Message for coaches Perfect form does NOT exist. Form and technique are always task dependent. A movement isn’t deemed right or wrong until you define the desired outcome. Obsessing over form is usually your own anxiety showing.

The performance field is not trending in the right direction. I’ve seen more RTP/Rehab courses and presentations being marketed than I can remember. Supply and demand tells me that these are in demand. That’s not good.

Oh great now we get to hear social commentary about Shedeur Sanders from a bunch of people who never watch football. Fun.

My early 🐦 board. I open the gym early for kids to get in extra, intentional, skill work. There aren't just 🏀 flying around everywhere. Every kid is working @ their own pace, w/little to no instruction, while the coaches are getting set up. They get out what they put in.

I think you should squat from the same stance you jump from There I said it

@StrengthDebates Depends why you’re squatting, right? Arguably it’s where you’d naturally produce the most power, and I’ve heard of this (and used it myself) for deadlift stance… but leverages for powerlifting for max weight would suggest a wider stance. So depends, right?

As I get older, I am trying to stay coordinated and athletic. What I/we find simple, our athletes may NOT. In a world of complex internet programs, I present you… A simple lateral skipping pattern (rhythm, timing, coordination) that a lot of your athletes will benefit from or at least practicing from. Give it a try!

It got windy and dusty today and now my eye looks like this. Chemosis apparently. Any eye doctors have advice? ER?
