Had a casual conversation last night with a Democrat acquaintance of mine. I was telling her about all the problems with Denver, the legislators, the pedophilia, the crime rates, TABOR, etc. She basically knows nothing about what Colorado is doing, except for “it’s expensive and downtown is dirty.” I truly think the reason people vote for Democrats is two fold; they’re not informed whatsoever on local issues, and leftist messaging is diabolically efficient. They know things are bad, but they don’t know why, they have no idea how the legislature works, they don’t know what’s being shoved down our throats, and nobody really cares until it starts to affect them. The crazy part is that she didn’t disagree with me. She sees the problems, but still won’t wake up. It’s so frustrating. She has a daughter, so she’s all about “girl power.” She believes in “democracy.” She has “empathy” for the homeless downtown. She’s married to an atheist, and believes in “science.” Democrats have a chokehold on messaging to these people, and I don’t know how to get through to them. They literally vote for their own misery because Democrat propaganda is so strong, and honestly, I’m not sure republicans can compete with that. 😒

Trump told you he’d run America like a business. He is. It’s called asset stripping. You sell the profitable pieces, gut the workforce, load it with debt, and walk away rich while everyone else holds the bag. Congratulations. You didn’t elect a president. You hired a liquidator.

Charles Schwab had a system failure yesterday (3/25). They couldn't tell if trades got executed or not and said they wouldn't know until this morning. This was their entire system as I understand it, individuals, advisors, everyone. Kind of amazing it takes them 12+ hours to figure out if trades happened or not but ok, I guess. Yesterday, they said to check back this morning. I called at 8amish Eastern today. They said the group that handles trade issues doesn't come in until 9am. Seems like maybe having the trade break people come in early the day after a total system failure with tons of trades that either failed, got duped, etc. wouldn't be the worst idea but no. I called back after 9am and they said the system was still resolving itself and they hoped trades would be processed and allocated by 6pm today. It is currently 7pm and my executions from yesterday are still not allocated. The trade reconciliation group has gone home - call back during normal hours the automated line says. I find all of this somewhat amazing. The regulators are up everyone's keester about basically everything except apparently when it comes to one of the larger custodians having a total system failure and all their clients not really knowing their positions. All of this brings to mind a line from Gordon Gekko, "Wake up, will you, pal? If you're not inside, you are outside, okay?"
