For #HypoAwarenessWeek I have been trying to put the experience of hypos into paint- a challenge but an interesting exercise in expressing something so abstract and complex. 🧵

I'm involved in a local project, exploring the support & education needed for carers of those with #type1diabetes. If you have T1D, can you complete the survey👇to help us understand & deliver what PWD want carers to know about T1D @GBDocInfo Thank you 🙏 eu.surveymonkey.com/r/YRQSMY5

It’s not easy our existence and it takes a lot to speak about it sometimes… A phenomenal job @AdamJSmithy for sharing your story like this 🤞 We need the media to showcase stories like yours, as openly as this, to help us change the perception of #Diabetes in society 🙏

A great thread on the dangers of peddling low/no carb as the only T1D management option. My other issue with people who do this is that they’re sending the message that insulin = bad. Imagine being newly diagnosed or recovering from an eating disorder & seeing that 🤦🏼‍♀️ #gbdoc
syd@sydccarlson

diabetes can cause some serious eating disorders and they're hardly ever talked about. the people that always comment that lower carb or even no carb diets are the answer make this hard. because *sometimes* not eating much, therefore less carbs, does help keep my numbers in range
