My thoughts go out to Tulsi Gabbard and her family, as her husband battles this serious health problem. I hope and pray that he makes a speedy and full recovery. While the circumstances around her departure are deserving of our sympathy, let’s be clear: Tulsi Gabbard’s only positive contribution to our nation's national security is her resignation. She politicized intelligence. She dismantled critical agencies keeping Americans safe. She weaponized the IC to pursue baseless election fraud claims. And more. We must ensure that her tenure — marked by a devotion to the person of the president and not to the security of the country — represents a terrible exception at DNI and not the new normal.

Dems obviously can’t count — or they’re hoping the public won’t. It takes 56 votes to pass a bill in the Michigan House. HB 5876 got 57. So no, one holdout Republican does not remotely equal a “fractured caucus.” It means the bill passed. Now let’s talk about what they really do not want to explain. They need to figure out how they are going to tell their own constituents that they voted NO on relief just to protect their position inside the Democratic Party. They voted NO on eliminating the real estate transfer tax. They voted NO on fixing the pop-up tax. They voted NO on eliminating the state property tax. They voted NO on eliminating remaining personal property taxes that punish businesses for investing, growing, and hiring. And they voted NO on rolling back utility pricing for Michigan families. Then they ran to social media yelling about police, fire, schools, and roads because fear is the only playbook they have left. That is the game. Use public safety as a scare tactic. Use children as a political shield. Use roads as a talking point. Then hope nobody notices that they are fighting to keep more money in government’s pocket and less money in yours. If you voted no, own it. Tell your constituents why your next move, your next title, and your standing in the party mattered more than lowering their cost of living. Tell them why party loyalty mattered more than property tax relief. Tell them why the party machine mattered more than utility relief. Tell them why protecting the system mattered more than helping homeowners, seniors, families, small businesses, and working people breathe. Because I know exactly why I voted YES. My vote belongs to my district. My vote belongs to the people who sent me here. My vote does not belong to a party, a caucus, a title, or anybody’s political ladder. I will not vote to get along and go along. I will not be pressured into voting against my district. And I will never allow anyone to take my vote for granted. Last night, my district was in that room. Michigan families were on that board. And my YES vote mattered. 57 yes votes. Bill passed. People over party.
