@experimilk Biblically speaking blue is a sin because it would be suicide.
English

Logistically it's absolutely more likely to get red to 100% as opposed to getting blue above 30%.
I'm a war veteran, I put my life on the line. Not many others will. There's 0% chance you get enough blue votes ever.
🔞 Danger N00dle 🔞@DangeN00dle
Here's a different way to approach it. Forget morals and all, just think about logistic Best case scenario for everyone to survive Red = 100% votes Blue = 50%+1 votes Which one is easier to achieve from a logistical standpoint?
English

@Pregory1 You are absolutely correct. There will probably be about 1 billion people who accidentally choose blue.
Nobody wants them to die.
But the altruism ceiling is about 15%.
So best chance for blue is still death.
The least death is maximizing red.
English

@codecovenant Bullshit. You really aren’t thinking this through. Half the children on earth will pick blue because they like the color. So might your mom or grandma. Maybe a cousin or two, and aunt or uncle.
Unless you’re fine with all those people dying, you’re picking blue.
English

@codecovenant Counterpoint: self sacrifice was never the deciding factor for blue anyway. People taking the path of least resistance and reading it the simplest "blue saves everyone" way possible. Most people who read the rules aren't even going to be thinking about death as a possibility.
English

@rafaelcaricio I'm able to get that on 2x5090s and being honest I want moar speed!!!!
English

@CinemaPrincipia Nope, selfishness actually becomes a nonfactor here.
English

@codecovenant You used selfishness to draw the conclusion that blue couldn't win, genius.
English

@codecovenant Current military, red is the only sensible option in a real stakes situation
English

@A_Sober_Drunk I knew sergeant who got captured as pow at korengal. Was able to escape on his own. That guy was not alright, ptsd bigtime.
English

@codecovenant Canadians were just coming in to Korengal when I was leaving
English

@Tasnek Those polls are not the same poll. None of those had your life at risk voting blue.
English

@codecovenant I love how 9/10 polls favor blue but he busts out the one that favors red lol.
English

@CinemaPrincipia If we conclude blue cannot win. Selfishness isn't a factor. Maximizing red is the lowest death rate.
English

@codecovenant First person to make the argument that red would win because "people aren't as morally good as I am."
Somehow, it's an even worse take than red will win because people are just as selfish as I am. lol.
English

@codecovenant As a US Marine Corp Veteran, I 100% agree. People don't have the perspective they need to really analyze this. Blue has almost no chance of getting over 25% in a blind vote with no warning, no collaboration, and very little instruction.
English

@codecovenant I too am a combat veteran. I chose Red.
English

@QuasarWatcher @Tasnek No risk to their life and they barely won.
English

@codecovenant @Tasnek Many polls I see were blue especially the Mr beast one which had like 400k votes
English

@Tasnek Based on history.
This is the actual volunteer blue vote.
Yes we can expect at least double this from people making the mistake of blue vote.
But to think 50% of people will risk their life for others... no chance at all.

English

@codecovenant So in your world, there is no scenario where blue will hit the majority? Based on what, your own choice? That you expect the world to also share?
You realize everyone in the world is not YOU, right?
English

@shuffles99 @xenabbyy White oaks represents.
Fucking dumb fuck city putting speed bumps all over the city. Ruining the city.
English

@Tasnek The only possibility is that red wins. There is no might.
English

@codecovenant Red = people WILL die.
Blue = people MIGHT die.
Which one is certain death again?
English

@Tasnek You say it's actually reasonable but we know it's not at all possible. We had to force people into conscription to risk their lives.
If blue is certain death. Maximizing red is the plan.
English

The likelihood of red getting 100% is basically zero.
It's the same chance of a meteor hitting you while you got struck by lightning while winning the lottery.
The likelihood of blue getting 50% on the other hand, is actually reasonable. Guaranteed? Of course not.
But if I were to make a bet on blue getting 50% vs red getting 100%, I would be a damn fool to bet on red.
English

@Arcs_Arts There's no chance at all blue ever wins. Does red win by 60% or 80% i expect this would fluctuate by the year.
Since blue is certain death, maximizing red is the goal.
English

@codecovenant Logistically, its functionally impossible for red to get any higher than 60%. And the lions share of those blue pushers would be under the age of 14.
English

@Mayhem4Markets @AMDRyzen More memory bandwidth? If not then yawn.
