@JoeTalksBack @EamonRyan @greenparty_ie @RAI_ie Restaurants are being charged DRS deposits by the suppliers, if the restaurant are recycling the can all they’re doing is getting the .15c/ can they’ve been charged for. It’s a joke of a system and entirely unnecessary. Just another stealth tax brought in by this group.

Someone explain this @EamonRyan @greenparty_ie tax in a restaurant. 15c tax charged on a Sprite but I leave with No empty can for the ‘Claim Your #ScamTax here Machine.’ So are the restaurants charging patrons 15c while they collect another 15c at the machine. @RAI_ie #GreenScam

@guyrleech @MartinSLewis Exactly! And in the piloting of Horizon people were convicted. Isn’t the point of a trial to find and fix errors in a system?!

@MartinSLewis As an IT consultant/developer it astounds/annoys me that it seems more of the developers didn't step forward with evidence/proof of the malfunctioning software, especially after it was seen to be affecting lives, not just figures on a page/screen

ITV drama has done an amazing job of making the Post Office scandal resonate - sometimes only the empathy that a drama can break makes a campaign work. Yet I've read a few denigrating journalists for not covering it. That's unfair, Private Eye has been all over this for years, as has Computer Weekly, there's been Panorama's, Radio 4 series and its been covered huge amount of time in many newspapers and news programmes. It took a different type of cut through to make it resonate to this level, but that doesn't mean some of my fellow journalists didn't try.
