Despite the consent for bail with the State agreeing Sonja and her mother will spend the night at Chikurubi. The Magistrate who was supposed to preside over the case did not turn up and the stand in Magistrate then decided to overturn the bail decision and has adjourned the case until tomorrow afternoon for ruling on bail. Chigananda pulling the strings indeed.

A job evaluation system should not only balance spreadsheets and structures. It must also recognise human capital development costs, institutional memory, responsibility, and lived realities. Reform is necessary, but reform without fairness creates disengagement, not excellence.

Across all ministries & departments, many professionals carrying complex portfolios functions, roles & responsibilities were reduced to generic grades that do not reflect the depth, pressure, or strategic value of their work. @MthuliNcube @edmnangagwa @daddyhope @ProgressiveOf

Zimbabwe’s @psczimbabwe carried out a public service job evaluation that was designed to fix structural inefficiencies, standardise grades, and rationalise salaries. But somewhere in the process, the system became more visible than the people who keep it running. #Zimbabwe

A senior FBC Bank executive and former mother-in-law to businessman Wicknell Chivayo has been arrested over an alleged US$1.4 million fraud involving a children’s trust account linked to Chivayo’s divorce settlement. Tabitha Madzikanda is accused of conspiring with other bank officials to divert funds from a trust established for Chivayo’s children, with investigators alleging the money was intended for a cluster houses property development project. Authorities also claim there were attempts to remove Chivayo as a signatory to the account. Police further allege Madzikanda was linked to cyber-related offences involving AI-generated images falsely suggesting a meeting between Chivayo and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. Madzikanda and her daughter are expected to appear in court on Wednesday.

@CrimeWatchZW Legally are they liable though? Considering they were literally just employees and were probably receiving ma $250 salary. With the unemployment rates in Zim, people literally cling to any job they can find.

Five employees of Hezy Motors Logistics have appeared in court for allegedly defrauding clients of more than US$155 000 after accepting payments for vehicle imports despite allegedly knowing the company had no capacity to deliver the vehicles. The accused, Kelly Moyo (19), Melody Karakupa (29), Bridget Tanyanyiwa (27), Paidamoyo Sunhwa (25) and Pamela T. Zambe (35), appeared before Harare regional magistrate Mrs Jesse Kufa facing charges of fraud and defeating or obstructing the course of justice. They were each granted US$200 bail and remanded to June 26. The complainants are Julia Mude and 15 others. Prosecutor Mr Rufaro Chonzi told the court that between January 1, 2025 and May 5, 2026, Hezy Motors, allegedly acting in connivance with the accused persons, advertised on social media claiming it had the capacity to import vehicles on behalf of clients when it allegedly did not. The court heard that the accused allegedly continued taking instructions from company director Hezel Mafu, who is reportedly wanted by police, and continued carrying out the alleged fraudulent activities despite allegedly knowing he was being sought by authorities. Acting on the alleged misrepresentations, several clients reportedly paid deposits for vehicles that were never delivered, resulting in a combined prejudice of more than US$155 000. @CyrilRamaphosa I said it he's not called Buffalo for nothing. He's going no where because no one is fit to assume his duties, you can look around no one currently fit to be President.

I therefore respectfully want to make it clear that I will not resign.   To do so would be to pre-empt a process defined by the Constitution.   To do so would be to give credence to a panel report that unfortunately has grave flaws.   To do so would be to abdicate the responsibility that I assumed when I became President of the Republic.   To resign now would be to give in to those who seek to reverse the renewal of our society, the rebuilding of our institutions and the prosecution of corruption. x.com/i/broadcasts/1…

His name is George Guvamatanga, Zimbabwe's Permanent Secretary for Finance, the supposed guardian of our national purse. But he has turned the Treasury into nothing more than a brutal checkpoint. Every single company wanting to be paid for government work must first kneel before him. For every tender payment released, he demands his cut 5 to 10%. And that money is not just for him. The loot flows upward, shared with the President and the entire rotten network around him. That is exactly why the same names keep winning tenders: Paul Tungwarara, Kudakwashe Tagwirei, and Wicknell Chivayo. They are the ones who grease the wheels, they are the ones who feast. When the Parliament dared to ask questions about the US$20 million illegal bank guarantee he issued to Valley Seeds, a company owned President Mnangagwa's own nephew, Temba Nkatazo, he refused to appear. He issued threats to silence anyone who speaks out. While Zimbabwe suffers, Guvamatanga lives like a king. He has amassed an estimated US$1 billion in wealth, owns over 5,000 dairy cattle and has purchased 12 mansions in the most upscale suburbs of South Africa. So when there is no bread, no job, and no hope remember his name. Guvamatanga didn't just steal money. He stole the future of every Zimbabwean.

@TendayiZinyama Is he doing it for free. All those works are being paid for. The language being used is misleading. He is getting tenders through nepotism.

I work at a Chinese company located at 1 Craig Allan, New Ardbennie, Harare. The company manufactures mining equipment and also buys scrap metal, which they melt in a foundry to make products. Last month, a client brought a truckload of scrap metal to sell to the company. While offloading it, we discovered that among the scrap metal there were also live bombs inside the truck. We immediately informed the manager, who is Chinese, but he forced us to continue offloading the scrap. Within a minute after notifying the boss, one of the bombs exploded and injured two workers. One worker sustained serious chest injuries and was admitted to Parirenyatwa Hospital. The other worker suffered minor head injuries, was also admitted to Parirenyatwa Hospital, and was discharged two days later. No police report was made after the incident. The worker who was seriously injured was later sent home without any assistance from the company. We have tried to arrange meetings with the Chinese boss, but nothing fruitful has come out of it. He only says, “I don’t care about anyone here. I came to make money and go back to China.” We also approached the NEC Iron and Steel Industry for help regarding the poor working conditions, but nothing has happened. They only promised to come and address our concerns. May you please help us expose this matter and advise us on the proper legal channels we can follow? I will also send photos of the bombs. @mpslswzim @PoliceZimbabwe @NPAZim @ZLHRLawyers
