@colm1762 @IrishRail Kind of hard for them to run to the timetable since there’s only 1 rail meaning 2 trains can’t go at the same time 😭 1 train gets delayed and it creates a knock on effect, can’t do anything about it. Also 10 minutes is not „significantly faster” lol

@IrishRail The 0905 Maynooth Connolly is consistently arriving late (14mins today) despite being timetabled to take 35 mins (journey can be done in 28 mins). Way too long sitting outside Connolly. If there is issues with reaching terminal plats, terminate on P7 to make it on time

@livscardiganss @IrishRail It's not much to suggest the trains run to the official timetable.. And the Sligo trains are significantly faster, that's why people want to take them. In other countries it's normal for express trains from outer suburbs to run along with stopping trains.

@colm1762 @IrishRail You people complain about everything omg 😭😭😭😭 if ur travelling from maynooth just take one of the earlier commuters lol you’re lucky that you’ve got trains every 10-30mins so use them instead of packing yourselves onto the Sligo train which only comes every 2 hours🫩🫩

@IrishRail There seems to be congestion every morning? What is being done to try and ensure this doesn't happen again tomorrow? If the terminal platforms are busy surely P7 can be used.

Saturday 31 Jan 2026 A total of 599 occurrences of a train leaving a station 1 minute or more ahead of published time occurred Worst offender, an incredible 7 minutes 12 seconds early leaving a station Thats just northbound DART services... We have all data to back this up

@RailUsersIe @IrishRail And now they had an empty out of service commuter train run south (could have brought people to Tara and Pearse), meanwhile everyone's waiting on platform 5, heavily delayed for the next dart. They could learn to be more flexible when things go wrong.

@IrishRail @RailUsersIe sat outside Connolly on the arriving Sligo train for 10mins now. Watched 3 trains pass. Why haven't we been given a signal to arrive? Train was going to be on-time, is now running late, wouldn't be acceptable in Japan.

@DublinCommuters Why don't we have rental scooters in towns and cities across the country like in other European cities. Would solve the last mile problem and make public transport a more viable and attractive option for people who live 15-45mins walk from a train station.

@SlattsSean @SocDems @WhitmoreJen Minimum required on the card is to prevent a potential exploit of abusing the minimum balances. That's the trade off for being able to go further on the epurse. How have they messed up the daily cap?

@colm1762 @SocDems @WhitmoreJen On the surface it looks better but in practicality and in some areas it is. However, the screwing up of the daily cap Vs the actual fare. And minimum required amount on your card, in particular child cards will hit families off guard.

NTA's move towards a simpler pricing structure is welcome. But Dublin Commuter Zone fares introduced by Irish Rail today has seen reductions for some and increases for others. Commuters not should be penalised for doing the right thing. @WhitmoreJen socialdemocrats.ie/increasing-rai…

@SocDems I don't know what the politicians are complaining about, but they really shouldn't be trying to interfere in the fares determination being made fairer and more consistent.

So it's an official finally, April 28th is the start date for Leap Card expansion in Dublin, it's taken 13 years to expand. 13 years commuters were ripped off transportforireland.ie/fares/new-fare…

@TFIupdates Could we have something slightly more specific than "operational issue". If you have to be in Dublin for 10am the slower train just doesn't cut it and people are gonna be late. It's completely disrespectful to customers to not explain why or even apologise for this.

@colm1762 This is due to an earlier operational issue between Longford and Edgeworthstown. The 06:40 Sligo/Connolly service is operating approximately 25 minutes behind schedule - MH

I know people disagree but I think this LIRR departure board design is one of my favorite rider screens I’ve seen. Being able to find a station and the next train that will serve said destination is so easy.
