Upon rewatch, Orlando blows it up this off-season. Game 6 collapse started when Cain got hurt up 19. Da Silva and Black got buckets, but majority of collapse had Banchero/Bane/Suggs/Carter Jr. on court. Stars came up small.

@TheMugNHL Skinner was good for us too, such a shame the nights he played in the playoffs, our entire team in front of him forget everything they knew about hockey

I'm beginning to think that NBA head coaches should be forced to wait a year before getting another HC job in the NBA. Seeing Billy Donovan getting this type of heat after struggling in Chicago is crazy.

@ReviewLightning That's playoff hockey. Andrei and Hagel were MVP level. Just a great series.

Breaking silence to observe that we just had a seven game playoff series that did not include a single minute of garbage time. It was red-lined from puck-drop of G1 to the countdown of G7. Four overtimes. Every second tight. Unbelieveable.

@JacobsFieldRBW Messick should be the leader. Murakami's 3 true outcomes are insane. 60% of his PA(145) are HR/BB/SO. 13 HR 27 BB 48 SO

The AL Rookie of the Year award is a three-horse race between Kevin McGonigle, Chase DeLauter, and Parker Messick IMO. Here’s how they stack up by fWAR currently: McGonigle - 1.5 Messick - 1.3 DeLauter - 1.2 Murakami has 1.1, but what he’s doing isn’t nearly as sustainable.

@michaelgrange I'm actually shocked to say this, but they missed him more on the defensive end. Need to see Jackson-Davis pick up some minutes on Mobley.

@RotoPat This reminds me of the time when the Herald Examiner drew a cartoon of Tommy LaSorda on the mound talking to Fernando Valenzuela saying "Just one more pitch", while handing him back his arm.

@BobbyMlRE That might be because of the play-in. Instead of getting a struggling 7 seed, you get the better of the 7-8 matchup.

I don't have a problem with the Celtics starting lineup in Game 7. Sometimes you have to play the game backwards, lest you have a starter foul out with 8 minutes left. The question is why Harper Jr. instead of Gonzalez.

Back in the day, your best defensive player was not in your Big 3. Cooper(Magic, Kareem, Worthy), Dennis Johnson(Bird, Parish, McHale), and Bobby Jones(Moses, Erving, Cheeks) fit, as did most teams. So can Detroit or Houston win it all if Amen or Ausar are in the Big 3?

One of the things that is interesting about the NHL and NBA Playoffs is that the narrative can change every 2-3 days.

@NetsDaily He will have a bigger market than you think. Not sure why he fell off this year, but he had 4 30 pt games as a rookie. Probably needs a place he can start.

@KeithOlbermann I think they can get a big name. Either Helleybuck, because the Jets ran it back for 8 years, or because of Oettinger's last 4 playoff years. Besides draft picks, maybe Hyman, or Bouchard goes. As solid as Nugent-Hopkins is, trade value isn't there.

Kind of hard to believe that the Oilers are going to burn the prime years of McDavid and Draisaitl because management couldn't find a #1 goalie with a 100-game shelf life for 12 consecutive seasons or more

Didn't the Cavaliers get Keon Ellis to be a defensive stopper? He needs to get more than 10 minutes a game in this series.

Interesting provision: "no team would be able to win three consecutive top-five picks" Would have prevented: Spurs (Wemby, Castle, Harper) Pistons (Cade, Ivey, Ausar, Holland) Cavs (Mobley, Garland, Okoro) Rockets (Green, Jabari, Amen, Reed)

The NBA has disclosed to its 30 GMs a singular new anti-tanking reform that expands the draft lottery to 16 teams, flattens odds, and have a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams are penalized with fewer lottery balls for the No. 1 pick. ESPN details: espn.com/nba/story/_/id…

I do wonder if teams in the west will try to build their own teams, or build them specifically to beat the Spurs.
