Team TNECD is on the ground at the 2026 @SelectUSA Investment Summit, meeting with international companies exploring expansion and new operations in the U.S. market and sharing what makes Tennessee stand out. 😎 With five foreign direct investment representatives across Europe and Asia, it’s not often we’re all in the same place, making this week an exciting opportunity for our team to come together and continue telling Tennessee’s story on a global stage. 👏 If you’re attending the #SelectUSASummit, stop by and see us at the Tennessee booth #727.

Since 2019, TNECD has awarded more than $1 billion in funding to expand broadband infrastructure and digital skills across Tennessee. That investment is powering real change on the ground. In @MetroNashville, the @NashvilleMDHA used a TNECD digital skills grant to provide residents with free laptops along with hands-on training to use them. For some, it was their very first time ever touching a computer. Greatly appreciated the opportunity to sit down with Chancellor @DondePlowman and share more about the work we’re doing to drive economic growth across Tennessee. We’re fortunate to have such a dedicated partner and advocate in her.

We’re still thinking about yesterday’s announcement. 💭 ☕ @Starbucks is coming to Tennessee, and it represents more than just a new name in our state. This investment brings new jobs, supports our growing workforce and reinforces what we already know: Tennessee continues to be a place where companies and people can thrive. It was great to be part of such an exciting moment and to celebrate alongside the partners, leaders and community members who helped make it happen. 👏 #ICYMI: tnecd.com/news/starbucks…

This $100 million investment and the creation of up to 2,000 new jobs underscore Tennessee’s strength as a destination for high-quality corporate growth and reflect the meaningful, well-paying opportunities that will soon be available to our talented workforce.
TNECD@TNECD

Fresh grounds for celebration in Tennessee. ☕️ 🎉 We’re excited to welcome @Starbucks to our state with a $100 million investment that will create up to 2,000 new jobs supporting a range of corporate operations, pouring new opportunity and energy into Nashville. It’s the latest sign that Tennessee’s momentum is already strong and still brewing. Even better, this is our first economic development announcement since launching our new brand, so kicking things off with a “high volume” win like this feels especially fitting. 🙌 tnecd.com/news/starbucks…

I was honored to speak at @CumberlandU in Lebanon today for their inaugural Economic Outlook Middle Tennessee forum. Since @GovBillLee took office in 2019, Wilson County has landed 28 projects with nearly 9,000 jobs and more than $1.7 billion in announced investment, and we’re excited to continue that momentum into the next administration. Additionally, it was a pleasure joining @EYnews public sector execs from all over the country who work with their respective state governments this morning. Getting to share the Tennessee story while hearing best practices from other states is helpful as our economic development strategy evolves.

Tennessee continues to stand out as one of the most tax-friendly states in the nation, and on Tax Day, that matters more than ever. 👏 According to @wallethub, the Volunteer State ranks #3 for lowest overall tax burden, offering a competitive advantage for both businesses and residents. Tennessee also has no personal income tax and the #3 lowest property tax burden in the U.S., making it easier to keep more of what you earn. Tennessee’s strong performance across these areas reinforces its reputation as a place where companies can invest with confidence and individuals can thrive. 💪 Learn more: wallethub.com/edu/states-wit…

Tennessee’s economy is the envy of the nation, and we need to make sure the world hears that story loud and clear. Experience High Volume gives us a clearer, more confident way to show the world what’s happening here—how fast we’re growing, how competitive we’ve become, and why Tennessee continues to be a place where businesses and communities thrive.
TNECD@TNECD

Is your sound on? Because if you haven’t already heard, our state has been cranking things up—from production and innovation to overall quality of life. TNECD is excited to keep that momentum going with the launch of a new brand that celebrates the off-the-charts growth we’re seeing across all 95 counties. 🙌 Now is the time to Experience High Volume in Tennessee. We spent back-to-back days in West Tennessee this week, joining local leaders and stakeholders in Jackson and Collierville. We’re only as strong as our local partners, and I'm grateful to the @JaxTNChamber and the Collierville Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to share more about the state’s success over the past year and TNECD’s vision for 2026 that will lead us into the next administration.

The 2025 TNECD Annual Report is officially live, and it's a big one. ⬇️ Across Tennessee, we’re building momentum through innovation, strategic growth and strong partnerships. From record-breaking corporate investment to a historic share of projects landing in rural counties and increased activity in foreign direct investment, this year reflects meaningful progress across the state. We also continued advancing Tennessee’s nuclear industry and launched first-of-its-kind disaster recovery grants to support communities when it mattered most. 👏 Explore the full report: issuu.com/tnecd/docs/202…

Tennessee’s relationship with Japan continues to be a cornerstone of our global economic success, with more than 200 Japanese businesses statewide that employ over 50,000 Tennesseans. Supporting our Japanese partners is central to our mission of attracting investment and creating high-quality jobs, and we look forward to building upon these relationships to unlock new opportunities in October!
