The White House Correspondents' Association Dinner started in 1921. It has been held at the Washington Hilton for over 50 years. We don't need a ballroom to hold an event. The President attends wrestling events and college football playoffs.

Why is a major news source allowed to flat out lie like this? This isn’t spin or opinion, it is a blatant falsehood. The Secret Service is exempt from the current funding shutdown. They are getting paid. But taking it a step further, if there were legitimate security concerns then why did Trump choose this, of all years, to make his very first appearance at an event he has historically skipped? I do not personally believe this was staged. That does not mean that the immediate response doesn’t stink to high heaven. The coordinated call for a ballroom that was recently ruled against in court (and wouldn’t have hosted this event anyway), and DHS funding when the agency responsible for this event is still very much being paid. The mass manipulation has GOT to stop. Someone text me when the timeline has cleared of all the grown men drama queens declaring that anyone with a differing political opinion wants them dead as a way of manipulating people into not exercising their First Amendment rights. 🙄
