my new idea is an ensemble creator for weather models. i feel like somebody similar to @aguacerowx could make a system where you can combine a bunch of models/members of other ensembles and create a mean or whatnot from them all. would be cool to see something like an ecmwf 1/?

Today is going to be an interesting one… Fairly high ceiling, capable of supporting EF3+ tornadoes, perhaps even a couple long-tracked tornadoes (>25mi), but storm mode will be the main determining factor in that ceiling.
Even a more linear mode could still produce a few EF2+.

Probably a tornado ongoing WSW of Ellington, Missouri.
Also, if you look in the top of the bottom right panel, you can see the scar from the undocumented mile-wide EF3+ tornado that occurred on May 8, 2009.

What hits hardest about the newest algorithm change is how it punishes frequent posting.
For an active wx news source like @weathertrackus, our reach will be significantly reduced as we “post too much” every day.
Unsure if we’ll have to change anything yet…

Rough estimation of EF2+ contour swaths. Pretty much a stretch of EF5 intensity all throughout town, this was a common feat for the April 27th tornadoes.

This is surprisingly my first time reviewing all of the high-resolution imagery from the 2011 Smithville, MS EF5. It’s shocking how rapidly the tornado intensified, going from likely EF3 damage in the treeline to violent EF5 intensity as it began trenching the field and swept away a structure. I'm currently in the process of reanalyzing the entire path for a more accurate centerline.

At this point, Climavision is really just a scam.
If you're going to spend tons of funding and labor to build these radars, and nearly gatekeep the data and put it behind a paywall, especially to the NWS, you're helping NOBODY.
