This is what I keep trying to get across to other #NYR fans. What is your plan here? While Mika and JT are not the greatest, I don’t think our fanbase understands that having your top-6 centers locked up long term at a total AAV of $16.5m is a massive steal.

As I’ve been saying from Day 1 it’s really simple. Both BYU and Bama should be in the playoffs despite both getting crushed today. You shouldn’t penalize teams for playing an extra championship game against stop 5 teams. You shouldn’t reward Miami and ND for not playing.

How good did USA d men play. McAvoy hammers McJesus twice. Werenski so silky. Slavin and Faber shut everything down and had ridiculous compete level. Hanafin great stick and skating all night and Fox was solid. That was a defensive clinic.

@RussoHockey @NHLBlackhawks Messier is terrible in his current role despite him being a top-10 player all-time. Gretzky adds next to nothing to the broadcast when he's on it. Same for Chelios. They're prime examples that a good player doesn't automatically make a good analyst.

"what's wrong with the winter classic?!" it's a live spectacle, not good tv, and the novelty wore off after like 3 games. that's it. it's worth keeping on doing because it sells tickets and it's fun in person but expecting to be enchanted by it on tv after like 17 years?
