The SAVE Act is effectively dead in the Senate.
Thune admitted the votes were never there and moved on to "more pressing stuff."
Here's the principle: women shouldn't have to do one extra thing more than a man to vote.
Want voter ID? Fine. Issue it to every citizen for free.
The burden of proving citizenship should never fall on the voter when the government can verify it at zero cost.
Voting is a right.
Not a privilege you earn by having the right paperwork.

For years, Ticketmaster/Live Nation has abused its power against musicians, fans, and venues, dominating the live music industry while worsening it for everyone else.
This jury verdict holding that the company violated state and federal antitrust laws is a key first step towards ending Live Nation’s monopolistic control and securing real relief for those it harmed.
Congratulations to the state attorneys general who kept litigating the case after the Trump DOJ settled cheaply and bailed.

WARREN: I want to understand how slashing healthcare for families so Meta gets a $3 billion tax cut is a 'really good outcome for the American public'
IRS CEO BISIGNANO: I don't see the two as correlated
WARREN: Those tax cuts were paid for by pushing people off their healthcare. Did you not follow that?

Actual conversation between Eleanor Roosevelt & Harry Truman 🇺🇸:
Eleanor Roosevelt: "Harry, the President is dead”
Harry Truman: “Is there anything I can do for you?”
Eleanor Roosevelt: "Is there anything we can do for you, Harry? For you are the one in trouble now”

For generations, March 4 was America’s Inauguration Day.
From 1793 to 1933, presidents took the oath of office on this date.
In fact, more presidents were inaugurated in March than in January.
• 36 inaugurations took place in March
• 23 have taken place in January since the date changed.
From George Washington’s delayed swearing-in, to Andrew Jackson’s legendary open-house crowd that forced him out a window, to Lincoln’s stirring appeal for unity on the eve of the Civil War, each ceremony added a chapter to the American story.
The 20th Amendment later moved Inauguration Day to January 20, shortening the long gap between election and inauguration.
One president holds a strange place in history: Franklin D. Roosevelt was both the last inaugurated in March and the first in January.
