@RodDMartin Switzerland has like 9 million citizens, how could they make up such a large trade deficit if they don’t have enough people to buy US goods to offset their oversized pharma exports?

BREAKING: President Trump just hit Switzerland with a 39% tariff. The Swiss are panicking. Their government is holding emergency meetings. CEOs are begging for mercy. Here’s why it matters—and why it’s working. 🧵

this is what I said at the end of my roast set on CNN tonight that I zoomed through beacause I was running out of time (and scared) : Since I only have a minute left and I’m live on an establishment media, I figured I’d list some of things mainstream media will never cover: The first trump shooter didn’t have any silverware in his house,The Crown prince of Saudi Arabia put money into Disney, why is fluoride still in our water? Monsanto paid Google to skew search results, why are so many presidents chefs dead?

@TimBrando @FoxNews @BretBaier You must not have listened to the interview. Constant interrupting is not civil and points about Trump are disqualifying for many on the Right. it’s frustrating the cult of Trump is incapable of listening to responses about actual policy.

30 incredible minutes @FoxNews as @BretBaier put on a journalistic clinic on how to be tough but exercise civility, and in keeping with the Lefts mantra it’s all about Trump is to blame.I just got to my Hotel in Indiana and had to watch, and now I’ll get back to Oregon/Purdue prep.

NEW: Kamala Harris’ appearance on ‘Call Her Daddy’ turns into massive flop as the YouTube segment barely received 100k views in the first 16 hours with mostly negative reactions. At the time of this post, the segment on YouTube has 4.9k likes and 11k dislikes, meaning it has a 31% favorability rating. The comments were almost entirely negative: "Not one good comment this is nuts." "She really tried to Adin Ross like Trump and got this." "How long before these comments get disabled??" "People in my neighboring state NC do not have power, water or roads and our VP is talking about this. So sad..my heart is broken for our country." "97k views in 14 hours. Trump would get millions"

@ChrisMartzWX @ChrisMartzWX it’s pretty simple. Warmer air results in more moisture capture. More moisture results in more rainfall. More hurricanes with more power (rain) cause more flooding.

Hi Brandon. 👋 If climate change is to blame for the Asheville, North Carolina flooding from the remnants of Helene, then was it also climate change when Asheville was wiped out on July 16, 1916 by the remnants of the Charleston Hurricane? How'd that happen 108-years ago when atmospheric CO₂ levels were at 302 ppm?

JUST IN: The Trump assas*ination suspect was hiding in the bushes with an AK-47 with a scope, two backpacks, and a GoPro. The Secret Service agents were one hole ahead of Trump, scoping out the area when they noticed the suspect. The FBI is now investigating the incident as an "attempted assas*ination" making this the 2nd assas*ination attempt on Trump in 2 months. Trump was taken to the ground by agents after the "pops" rang out. According to the Secret Service, agents fired 4 shots at the suspect. It is unclear if the suspect shot as well.

I apologize to my followers. I know this is supposed to mostly be about Auburn sports but my family just can’t afford 4 more years of these policies. The cost of living is eating away at our savings despite promotions and raises. We have to course correct as a society as well.

JUST IN: Donald Trump calls for ABC News to get their license taken away after their abysmal debate moderation last night. Moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis are under fire for their continuous fact-checks of Trump without any for Harris. The moderators not only fact-checked Trump but they were also caught giving Harris "toss-ups" during the debate. Harris was able to spew lies, such as the "Fine People" hoax and the "Bl**dbath" hoax without any correction from the moderators.

@Ratmanrules Thanks for sharing your story. Sorry for your loss. If you want to support others like your son from this problem, I’d encourage you to vote out Republicans who continue to cut funding for addiction research / support / prevention programs.

Matthew Perry’s story is sad and it’s a story that made the news because he’s famous. Addiction is a horrible problem we have in our country. It can happen to anyone. Over 100,000 Americans overdose every year. 99.9% don’t make the news. My son didn’t make the news. I miss him every day.

@BillDA 🤣 this is blatantly false. First off it implies everyone can get the subsidy, not just first time home buyers. The price of homes will be relatively pricier for those who don’t qualify, not first for first time buyers. Second, economic laws don’t work in a vacuum.

Ok listen up for an iron law of economics. When you subsidize the purchase of something, the market price of the thing goes UP by exactly the amount of the subsidy. Everyone can now afford whatever they could afford before, plus the subsidy amount. The price gets bid up accordingly. The subsidy ends up in the pockets of sellers, not buyers. Homes, education, highways, insurance, ANYTHING. Every time. Policies like this are offensive because they hurt the very people they’re designed to help. But they’re not actually designed to help people. They’re designed to get votes, who cares about the consequences.

My dad always used to say that the way you build wealth is by building equity in your home. My housing plan would help Americans achieve homeownership by giving households $400 a month for two years when they buy their first home.

@eastdakota @Austen This happens ~40 times every quarter?!?! What a feckless response, @eastdakota. Wow. Ashamed to have companies I advise be associated with Cloudflare and will be advising them and future clients to move off if this is how you treat humans in a org.

We fired ~40 sales people out of over 1,500 in our go to market org. That’s a normal quarter. When we’re doing performance management right, we can often tell within 3 months or less of a sales hire, even during the holidays, whether they’re going to be successful or not. Sadly, we don’t hire perfectly. We try to fire perfectly. In this case, clearly we were far from perfect. The video is painful for me to watch. Managers should always be involved. HR should be involved, but it shouldn’t be outsourced to them, No employee should ever actually be surprised they weren’t performing. We don’t always get it right. And sometimes under performing employees don’t actually listen to the feedback they’ve gotten before we let them go. Importantly, just because we fire someone doesn’t mean they’re a bad employee. It doesn’t mean won’t be really, really great somewhere else. Chris Paul was a bad fit for the Suns, but he’s undoubtedly a great basketball player. And, in fact, we think the right thing to do is get people we know are unlikely to succeed off the team as quickly as possible so they can find the right place for them. We definitely weren’t anywhere close to perfect in this case. But any healthy org needs to get the people who aren’t performing off. That wasn’t the mistake here. The mistake was not being more kind and humane as we did. And that’s something @zatlyn and I are focused on improving going forward.

Alright some very quick (assumptive) analysis: 1. Looks like the company was nuking most of the sales org. If they’re keeping <25% of an org the calculus isn’t, “Are they doing a good job and have we given them a fair shake?” It’s more, “Who are the top performers we need to keep? We have to get rid of everyone else.” Totally unfair to her. It may have been nigh impossible to reach the performance bar required to stay. But hard to say with no info. 2. The fact that it’s two HR people who don’t know her is either a big mistep or it implies her manager (and possibly her manager’s manager etc.) are gone too. 3. The HR team was probably given a big list of names they needed to tell, and probably had no clue as to why the decision making led to some staying and some going. That’s not a fun position to be in, but could be the only alternative to a mass firing in a giant Zoom meeting depending on how much of management was also fired. 4. It’s interesting that they’re so clear it’s performance-based and not a layoff. That’s not an accident. Could be to avoid regulations around the WARN act, or as justification to give zero severance. Usually in this call they go over the high level of that stuff, but this one took a turn. Sad across the board.
SMB Attorney@SMB_Attorney

Getting fired is tough, but it’s important to handle it with dignity. Firing someone is also hard, requiring compassion and respect. Total disaster on both sides here.
