Not the side I usually fall on, but am really troubled by implications of this for many trans people who will be at greater risk if they simply switch public bathrooms as currently constituted. I hope there is a way that women’s right to single-sex spaces can be delivered without putting others at greater risk

Some of these people seemed very keen to know me when I had a top-ranking marketing podcast, ran large events, could put them on stage and in front of my audience. One was promoting a book. One was on a sizeable monthly retainer. Some were extremely warm and friendly back then. Interesting how quickly people can recast you as morally contaminated when it suits them. One person publicly claims I previously ‘threatened her with legal action’. I checked the screenshots. What actually happened was that I pointed out certain comments were potentially libellous (they were). But I didn’t threaten to bring a legal claim against her. Of course, I imagine they’d argue the real issue is my supposedly heinous beliefs. * That there are two biological sexes - male and female * That it is not possible to change sex * Women and girls deserve single-sex spaces, services and sports Truly terrifying stuff. 🙄 What is striking is how little interest there is in discussing the actual substance of the legal claim itself. Instead it focuses on personal disgust, ridicule and social shaming. And despite the apparent concern for the disability charity Scope, very few people seem interested in what the Equality Act actually says - or in seeing it implemented consistently. Which is odd really. Because “disability” and “gender reassignment” are both protected characteristics under the law. Youa might think people so certain they are opposing discrimination would want to understand the legislation they’re invoking.
