@eckilepsie @RenateKuenast Es hilft doch aber gerade Pendlern aufs Auto und somit aufs teure Benzin zu verzichten. Außerdem hat natürlich auch die Bahn gestiegene Kosten durch den Irankrieg, aber ja, die wurden bisher kaum an den Endkunden weitergegeben (ist ja ein komplizierter Prozess bei DE-Ticket).

@POTFES I don't think the outcome of the election will meaningfully change the state of corruption. If Fidesz is compromised, then Magyar is a product of that system. His ex wife was Minister of Justice. Only a fool would think that he would be a candidate of change.

I won't comment on the Hungarian elections today. For now, it is a matter for the people of Hungary, and I wish them all the best 🇭🇺❤️🇭🇺 But I will say: Anecdotal evidence is very powerful in predicting an election, capturing the spirit of the time in a way that polls cannot.

Kurzfristig eine tägliche Preiserhöhung um 12 Uhr zu verordnen war kein Problem. Aber kurzfristig Steuern senken geht auf keinen Fall?

@IlvesToomas It's unclear if Google, Microsoft, Meta, xAI, Anthropic are currently overinvesting in data centers. There's a huge and real risk and the broader market also grows more suspicious. There might never be a positive ROI with this spending.

This is all nice and good but US tech companies -- Google, Meta, Grok, Anthropic etc -- are each investing 300-400 billion. €4Bn is not news, it's surrender.

america is one of very few countries that has even tried to build a multiethnic democracy at scale, & the fact that it has a visible, loud, ongoing discourse about racism is actually evidence of relatively low tolerance for it compared to countries where racial hierarchy is just... ambient & unremarked upon. japan (lol very obvious now), korea, much of europe, india's caste system, han chauvinism in china, ethnic dynamics across the gulf states.. most of these societies don't even have the vocabulary for the conversation america tortures itself over daily. america is quite literally is one of the least if not the least racist countries on the planet, & it's not even close.

Mir geht es darum, dass das Nettoinkommen IMMER möglichst deutlich steigen sollte, wenn mehr gearbeitet wird und mehr Brutto zur Verfügung steht. Und Ehegattensplitting schaffen da genauso Fehlanreize wie div. Transferleistungen.

@corny_stripes @TweetsOfSumit @DE_Compounder Das kann man so sehen. Dann ist Schutzgelderpressung aber auch ein Anreiz zur Mehrleistung. Oder eine Steuerquote von 80 %. Oder 20 % Inflation. Du willst einen Anreiz mehr zu arbeiten? Dann besteuere nicht alles und jeden bis zum Tode.

Vielleicht check ich’s einfach nicht. Zwei Leute heiraten, leben zusammen, wirtschaften gemeinsam. Am Ende zählt doch, was insgesamt übrig bleibt. Jetzt heißt es: Ehegattensplitting abschaffen, dann hat der Zweitverdiener „mehr netto“. Aber gleichzeitig hat der Haushalt weniger Geld. Und wenn’s finanziell eng wird, gilt trotzdem: Man steht füreinander ein. Also zusammen wirtschaften, zusammen haften – aber steuerlich plötzlich getrennt? Irgendwie passt das für mich nicht.

Erzeugt das Paradox, dass es sich für einen Ehepartner, der wesentlich weniger verdient als der andere, aufgrund von steuerlichen Begegebenheiten, praktisch nicht lohnt mehr zu arbeiten.

Dann hat sie übers Jahr auch den Anreiz diese zu erwirtschaften und muss mehr Arbeiten.

@TweetsOfSumit @DE_Compounder Die Ökonomen, die sich damit auseinandersetzen, können durchaus zeigen, dass es Fehlanreize beseitigt und dazu führt, dass Frauen mehr arbeiten (DIW, RWI, ...). Letztere sagt +1,5% BIP voraus. Manchmal passen Studien wohl nicht ins eigene Weltbild.

@DE_Compounder Passt es auch nicht. Es ist eine Steuererhöhung verkauft als „Frauen ‚motivieren‘ zu arbeiten“.
