We’ve had enough defensive failure theater
It’s time to play offense
It’s to put points on the board—either by enforcing the talking filibuster or nuking the zombie filibuster
Coach Tommy Tuberville@SenTuberville
As usual, President Trump is right. Democrats will nuke the filibuster the MOMENT they take back the Senate. We MUST pass every bit of America First legislation we can, and CODIFY the President’s agenda before it is too late.

Although we don’t yet have the details about the motives behind last night's shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner, it’s incumbent upon all us to reject the idea that violence has any place in our democracy. It’s also a sobering reminder of the courage and sacrifice that U.S. Secret Service Agents show every day. I’m grateful to them – and thankful that the agent who was shot is going to be okay.

I’m headed to the Senate floor in just a few minutes before we kick off vote-a-rama.
The @SenateGOP is working toward fully funding Border Patrol and ICE for the rest of the Trump presidency.
We will not go back to the Biden Open Borders Era.

@LeaderJohnThune @DHSgov All that the people want in the SAVE act passed. This is a 85% issue. You not getting this done is unacceptable.
English

For 67 days now, Democrats have refused to fully fund @DHSgov. That is unacceptable.
And it’s why Republicans are going to move forward this week with a budget resolution that will allow us to take up a funding bill for the law enforcement and border security components of DHS.

@GBX_Press You started this fucking war without even warning your NATO allies, and now you're asking us for help? Not our fight, not our business.

I support the ethics committee’s investigation and believe Eric Swalwell is no longer fit to be a Member of Congress. He should be expelled from Congress.
I want to be clear: I had no knowledge of the allegations of assault, harassment, and predatory behavior against Eric Swalwell.
I trusted someone who I believed was a friend, but it is now clear that he is not the person I thought I knew.
The women who have come forward have shown courage. They deserve to be believed, to be supported, and to see justice served.

@MayorGallego @PHXSkyHarbor Went through PHX this week and the Latina ICE agent was the most pleasant professional and made sure the lines most quick and effecient. @MayorGallego no one was confused or afraid. You are Such a embarrassment to the people you represent 🤡
English

ICE is no longer at @PHXSkyHarbor security checkpoints.
Good.
All this did was spread confusion and fear. Our nation’s airports operate best—and are safest—when trained professionals are doing the job they’re meant to do.

In the richest country in the world, we have the money to make health care affordable for everyone.
Republicans would just rather spend it on tax cuts for billionaires and more stupid forever wars.

About one third of Americans say they have skipped meals, borrowed money, or cut back on utilities to pay for health care. That's in a Gallup poll released in March. cbsn.ws/3NMI7H7

The Senate GOP has exactly two options if it wants to avoid drifting into irrelevance and a stunning loss in November:
(1) Keep the filibuster and 60-vote cloture rule fully intact, but stand ready to overcome Senate Democrats’ unprecedented pattern of obstruction by aggressively enforcing the “talking filibuster”—a move that would require senators to work longer, harder hours and take fewer recesses, but lead to more thoughtful, careful deliberation in the legislative process,
OR
(2) Nuke the filibuster.
I strongly prefer the first option.
But we must choose either one or the other—because the status quo isn’t working and the resulting inertia isn’t just making it impossible to pursue a coherent agenda; it’s hurting the American people.
What’s your preference?
