@im_a_woodsprite @DrScottArthurMP the onus is on vehicle drivers to proceed carefully but the delineation between vehicle lane and pavement isn’t there because in this design the car is crossing a pedestrianised junction, rather than the pedestrian crossing a roadway. Driver behaviour change is needed tho.

@corstclimaction @DrScottArthurMP Hope I've not been misunderstood. I'm not suggesting this accident is a result of road design, I'm using it to highlight that this junction is dangerous to vulnerable road users and we should design it so it is impossible to do more than 5-10mph to cross the path/pavement.

It's really concerning to see this at the edge of my constituency - I hope every one is safe.

@im_a_woodsprite @DrScottArthurMP If cars travelling at under 20mph(as they’re meant to) no driver should be ending up in this situation.

@DrScottArthurMP The sightlines from the give way line aren't sufficient to make a judgment on if it's safe to pull out. The surface and entry to the junction is far too wide and smooth, drivers are going across that pavement at ~15mph.

@GylerNorth Indeed, A quiet idyllic village which before the bus gate, saw a staggering 4000+ vehicles A DAY using the narrow village road with dangerously narrow pavements… 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️

The sense of entitlement of a Facebook group of approx 2000 people out of a ward pop of 20,000 is something to behold. We have ideas - none of which involve less motor traffic. And yet again this ridiculous notion of a formerly quiet, idyllic village.

Watching the ACE deputation . Going about as well as expected. Children shouldn't be walking down Manse Rd to school because the pavements are so narrow and it has always been a really busy road, so remove the bus gate🤔

If you want people to cycle from village and town to their nearest train station, give them this. We're a rich country and can afford to deliver a nationwide network of segregated cycle lanes. We'll never decarbonise the suburbs without it.

Those whose livelihoods & sometimes lives being ripped apart by the climate impact of our emissions, are, for now at least, typically poor, low-emitters, living far from here & are people of colour. They have no judge sentencing us for knowingly being party to their destruction.

Where in the #KingsSpeech is the promised end to new oil and gas licences? Instead, there's a bill "to support sustainable aviation fuel". But there is no such thing as sustainable aviation fuel, and no prospect of it materialising, unless you rewrite the laws of physics.🧵

Hopefully sense will prevail and this unnecessary mine and similar fossil fuel projects in the Uk will also be quashed. It’s about time our govts started making the right decisions on matters which contribute directly to climate change.
