@cox_home @LinkedIn Poate că sunt, nu zic nu. Dar a avea un website cred că ar putea și ei să facă. La fel, a se consulta cu importatorii lor - ar putea să facă și asta, înainte de a da vina pe guvern că nu îi ajută. Un website decent și niște mesaje pe e-mail nici nu costă bani, nici efort.

A very bad joke. This government is exasperating. A policy launched without even having all the details confirmed, encouraging use of plastics vs glass, adding inflationary costs to every glass product, who is advising them!? Does @RachelReevesMP and her team listen to anyone. 🤯

Pet is clearly not good if you chuck it in the sea but if properly recycled its way better. Frankly climate change is wiping out our industry +all agriculture/food faster than microplastics will kill us

Both materials - and all others - & their impact on environment need to be considered in the round. Production, (re)use, recycle, waste.

All wine trucks w glass are travelling 1/3 empty due to weight limits 20000 btls glass v 31000 pet, plus all the extra packaging - carton etc

Its production is C-intensive but ‘net zero’ production of glass bottles is an active experiment. Transportation of liquids up & down a global supply chain is a big issue…

@FelicityCarter @MonikaMarieNYC On wine the Eu charges around 9 cent a bottle for US wines entering Europe. But I would imagine that will rise soon if the US indeed does what it says it intends to do with tariffs on Eu wines.

@MonikaMarieNYC These are made-up figures. The EU doesn't charge a 39% tariff on American goods.

Wine tariffs from the EU fall into the 20% range, based on 39% current tariffs by the EU on American goods. If it’s important to the EU, they will negotiate to parity. Meanwhile, people should look at what US products have been charged to date; it’s pretty nauseating.

@wblakegray Biggest losers will be American consumers -if these tariffs are applied as threatened - wine will just get more expensive -even US wines.

Glass is hugely more of an environmental problem than plastic and wine industry just ignores that its our biggest problem re climate change
