POP QUIZ TIME! Below is a pH map received this week. The Pdk has been cropped as a whole for 45 years pH 7+ at bottom, pH 4.5-6 at top The straight line doesn’t marry up to any neighbouring fencelines. The dune-swale runs NW/SE through it. What is happening at the top of the Pdk?

@brill_ag @gsandral I’d put Urea on mine & looked like the plot on the left, it was very lucky not to get cut as it looked leafy & fresh when my other crops were dying but was just a seed increase

@BillNosworthy If your selling fuel that you bought for $100k for $105k but your next wholesale load is going to be $140k at pickup you’d go broke pretty quick if you didn’t put prices up especially if hen the prices dive they don’t get to hold them up for long before customers stop buying

I fail to understand the price gouging with fuel at the moment. Company controlled outlets are directed to change their prices, yes. But independents aren't. So why does the price of existing stock not stay the same until new stock/price comes in? I'm sure a very clever

@StefanGrainMan It’s pretty much just half starved Merino’s & thistles up there, some say it shouldn’t have been cleared but that’s from people who don’t realise trees didn’t bother growing there anyway

@DonaMcqueen A lot of the issues we have is council just using contractors to supply product & ‘fix’ a section, the quarries supply a ‘road base’ product but it’s all blown & crushed rock, then it just corrugates up, was better when councils had cuttings to get material that had some clay

So when they all extoll virtuous type phrases of: “we’ve got our customers interests at heart” …… you could be a tad cynical.

@freshy1973 Why haven't the abbs put the lamb strip brand on them ?

These came up well. Some of the 2025 progeny test lambs. Changed things a bit with the feed and decreased grain/increased roughage and improved COP by nearly 15%. Makes a nice margin in a good year, but most important when lamb prices drop again
