@Sensus_Fidelium "demons are forced to speak the truth" Interesting. God will overcome a creature's free will?

Many out there poo poo on the claim that demon's quotes are used in conferences or interviews and people get mad that you shouldn't listen to them. Some act like the speaker is hanging out with the demon just having a drink watching the game instead of the pounding they take in the session. Fr. Armorth literally says that demons are forced to speak the truth when commanded to. I don't get how this is hard to grasp. youtube.com/shorts/33hzcw1…

@emzanotti I wish they had the full quote. First, it elides "sometimes" which (to me) changes the sense. "It is most laudable in a married woman to be devout, but she must never forget that she is a housewife. And sometimes she must leave God at the altar to find Him in her housekeeping."

@cpdog @FeserEdward Zero people have said that the DP is intrinsically immoral. Not Francis not Leo. No one. But to publicly argue with the church teaching that it is INADMISSIBLE is rebellion.

@FeserEdward @poperespecter1 @poperespecter1 says above "If your choice is to let a murderer walk loose or execute them, I think we can all agree that there is no real choice at all: you have to execute to protect the public." But this means the DP is *not* per se immoral which is all @FeserEdward is arguing

If the Vicar of Christ were to say that 2 + 2 = 5, it would not somehow magically become good arithmetic, and we would not somehow be bad Catholics for pointing out that it is in fact bad arithmetic. Similarly, in his non-irreformable statements, a pope can say things that are ill-advised, poorly formulated, or in some cases even appear to contradict previous binding teaching, and there is no disloyalty in respectfully pointing this out, as the tradition from St. Paul to St. Thomas Aquinas to Donum Veritatis has always affirmed. I've spelled all this out 1,234 times, and it is long past tiresome to have those careful arguments and compiling of evidence simply brushed aside with sophomoric smartass remarks like "Pope Feser" or (as others have routinely done) ill-informed and question-begging accusations of "dissent."

@CatholicSmark @pluant Can I suggest that before posting something, you imagine yourself saying it as an invited dinner guest in front of the person, their spouse, and their young children.

Its not nice, but it isnt incorrect. Theres a reason Andrew's stuff is constantly flagged by AI detectors. Its obvious he over relies on chatgpt. Including getting elementary facts wrong, like an AI hallucinating.
Andrew Likoudis@A_lickity_split

@CatholicSmark @johnamonaco @Where_Peter_is I’ve won awards for reading and communication, and got my degree in communication. I choose my words very carefully. It’s pretty uncharitable to suggest that I “blindly replace” whatever AI suggests.

Company: Me: "Oh Wow.. This shoe is perfect! No notes! It's so comfortable and fits my foot perfect in this exact size! I'll buy it, and wear it until it wears out every couple of years, then buy this shoe every time until I die! Company (Somehow sensing my pleasure): Me (2 years later after wearing shoe every day): "Oh man, these are ragged, but man were they great!. I should get new ones. I'll just get them on the company website....wait... NOT AGAIN!" Me: Genuine question: Why do shoe companies feel the need to drastically overhaul designs every 6 months?

You'll have spent all of Lent finding good in the world you were previously unaware of. Even better, you'll have shared it with others. When you do share those good stories, be sure to tag me. I could always use some more good news. We all could. 4/4

Perhaps instead of sharing a terrible story about X topic, find another story instead about something good, true, or beautiful about topic X and share that instead. 3/4

Looking for something to give up during Lent? Here's my suggestion: refrain from posting any negative content on social media. No sharing stories that you think everyone should be outraged by; no snarky commentary; no snide side-eyes, no sarcasm; no schadenfreude. 1/4

@david_perell Use "How to write formulaically well" for your next title! After all, you're literally using a formula for your titles. Do it!!!!

The state of the Internet in a nutshell: For 2.5 years, whenever I published a video on YouTube, I'd come up with a bespoke title / thumbnail that accurately described what the conversation was about. Then, during the summer, my view count fell. Nothing worked until I found a formula: "How to Write ________ Well." Always the same text. Throw an adverb in the middle, then share a quote from the interview in the thumbnail. People are 0.5% - 1% more likely to click on that title format, so the channel has exploded in growth. This title format is worse for my viewers and soul-deadening for me, but it's leading to so many more views that I'd be crazy not to follow it — and people are significantly more likely to click on videos with the formulaic title. This isn't just a story about YouTube. So much of the Internet works like this now.

@EricRSammons "(And not all submissions pass as human-generated.)" Well, the AI detection is *also* AI, and obviously it can be wrong. If something gets flagged, what's the next step? Do you still read it yourself?
