I guess I have to be the bad guy (again). I like Gary Woodland & I’m happy for him. BUT it’s not like he had to beat the 2 best players on his tour to win this. He beat Sam Stevens, Johnny Keefer, Paul Waring & the less good Hojgaard twin.

It’s the rich public districts that spend more $ per student than less wealthy rural districts.
The inequity is in public education, not school choice.

Texas voucher applicants are far more likely to be White than Texas public school students. The priority approval tiering may close that gap a bit— But it’ll grow again in the final usage rate once school admissions occur and successful voucher applicants become unsuccessful school applicants

A couple years ago, exempting voucher schools from testing in one state was about passing vouchers in other states—the voucher lobby couldn’t absorb more headlines about horrific results.
Now, cutting testing is about making public schools—which do have to test—less attractive.
