@Office I have clients who want designs in ppt to match their branding but that means I am stuck working in your tool. Can you help out? I would work for you for free to help make it better.

Yo, @Office PowerPoint is a screen design tool. Can we get pixel measurements as an option? PPT is capable but the UI and some of the set up is terrible. I can't change the color of a guide? Why not? Can't put stuff behind a master page item? Come on!

@bentenwoodring @devinsfountain One of my favorite things about Devin: He has strong opinions, lots of them, and absolutely no interest in hiding them. But it never feels personal. He can make it very clear he thinks you are hopelessly wrong while also making it clear that the friendship is fully intact. Rare.

Meet Devin Fountain, Head of Development at NOOON. Devin leads and oversees every site we ship. He's the architect of our custom Webflow framework. Lightweight, semantic, accessible foundation that makes our sites load almost instantly. Devin was a product designer for years before he was a developer. He understands design intent at a deeper level than most engineers ever do. When he builds, he doesn't just translate Figma files into code. He sees what the design is trying to do and builds in a way that protects the intent. We've also worked together long enough that it shows. We co-founded footer.design together back when it was a side project. He's the first person I want in the room when a build gets complicated. He also mentors and leads across the full team and goes the extra mile, even when he doesn't need to. If you've ever wondered why our sites perform the way they do, you're looking at the reason.

Today starts one of the toughest months I’ll have in a while. No one is hurt or unsafe and family is good. Just some trying days ahead. Please send thoughts, prayers, well wishes, spirit animals, and Doordash gift certificates!

@AlexAperios Great to have the work. At least it isn't PowerPoint. I have a huge PPT project each year. Good folks, good money, hate the program.

@cramdesign Not for very large format no. I need bleed and crop as well as being able to use precise colour references.

I've got so used to designing in Figma that now I have to design some large scale format printing I am hating every second. It's actually crazy how much faster and simpler Figma is to use for anything grid related. Illustrator just feels so old. And whats worse, there is AI tools all over the place that make it even more annoying to use. @Adobe You need to improve your tools!

“We don’t have time for a full brand process right now” (yeah… I hear that a lot) but what’s actually happening? you’re: 🚫 rewriting messaging constantly 🚫 over-explaining in every call 🚫 trying to align a team with vibes you’re already spending the time ..just in the least efficient way possible

@chris_strat exactly. It is a cycle. It would be fun and refreshing except that it is disappointing to hear negative framing on things that are often thoughtfully designed just out of vogue.

When a designer sends you: “Sorry for the delay” What they actually mean is: “I’m f'ing drowning in work, haven’t slept properly all week, have 47 tabs open, and I’m currently losing my mind over a concept that still doesn’t feel quite right yet.” 😂

@stanley_human Nolan has lots of great movies. This was a well made movie, I can recognize that. I just didn't like it. I was bored. Some folks have said I wasn't supposed to like it, as if it is my failing and I just didn't recognize the value of not liking it. Uh, ok. Well done then?

I hate to admit it but the movie Oppenheimer is just meh. I love Nolan. A lot. But rewatching it, the movie made me realize, that technical making abilities aside the movie itself have zero rewatch value and the story itself is just meh. It certainly didn't need to be that long. This is coming from someone who is deeply passionate about physics and movies.

Really proud of the team’s work on the Conductor website. Figma for design. Jitter for animation. Webflow for development. No AI. I’d use AI if it could hit this level of quality. Not there yet.

Tim Boros is now Head of Design at NOOON. He has been crushing it as a leader, designer and an integral member of the team for the past two years, and I'm excited for him to take more ownership as he leads the design side of the studio. Excited for the next chapter, Tim.
