My unsurprising prediction for 2026/27 is everyone launching their app like everyone launched their course a couple years ago. They’ll mostly all be the same app. A few will be interesting but not as interesting as an actual friend. Go hug somebody. It’s better than AI.

@robably__ We can already generate our own movies, music, and games. They just can't charge us for the current model. So they automate it, sell it as easy, and soon we are subscribers to life and devoid of all struggle but also without meaning.

@cramdesign Yes. And kinda unrelated I guess but what is up with this idea that we want to generate our own movies and music and games? Like no I want to enjoy something which was crafted by another human. Sharing the creativity and stories is what makes us human. They’re selling isolation

I really don't believe any designers want the ai's to do all the designing for them

@robably__ Choosing how we apply and test ourselves, and struggle, gives our life meaning. I want ai to do some of the things but I need to choose and I need to struggle. Design is one of the best ways I have found to do that.

@robably__ Imagine I could just watch my life like a show. Everything needed could just be done for me. We think of struggle as bad and a perfect life as one without trying… but I want to participate. I don't want ai to remove my problems; I want ai to help me to choose my problems.
