@johncutlefish Found specifics ... 76% of the best teams (top third) say they're reflecting regularly, compared to 36% in the rest of the sample. In interviews too, reflection practices really differentiate thriving teams.

@johncutlefish Figma Research has some good data (both quant and qual) on this! Short answer: Reflection isn’t a universal practice. But teams that do reflect are more likely to say they’re building great products (i.e., meeting customer needs, driving metrics, innovating).

@cristentor @figma Scrolling through this feels like a teleport back to a Cristen-moderated user research read-out. Miss working with you! :)

I am absolutely fascinated by how groups of people combine forces to make amazing things. So I’m thrilled to share @figma’s Collaboration Report, which dives into the key behaviors of teams that are truly satisfied with the work they’re doing.
Figma@figma

We’ve all been there. Collaboration... is hard. 😅 We talked to a lot of teams, and it turns out there are five specific behaviors that can make or break your team’s vibes. Check out the Figma Collaboration report to start making work more fun → bit.ly/3z60exk

@beh_zod @0xZakk @strangechances I think, if done well, it can feel more respectful and powerful to research participants. It’s a limited use of people’s time and energy to be duplicating knowledge that lives in silos.

@beh_zod @0xZakk @strangechances Fwiw, I started thinking about this when doing research portfolio reviews as a hiring manager — after seeing the 12th iteration of a similar JTBD study in the same space. It’s interesting (but radical) to think about an industry sharing knowledge about the JTBD in their space.

Major web companies do user research and keep their findings private – even though companies with similar products could benefit from collaborating. An open source journal of user research could accelerate web3 UX improvement. This would be great to see as a Mirror publication.

Thanks @cristentor for the excellent #Config2022 talk! Really great to see evidence-backed proof of collaboration’s effects in action. So encouraging to see real examples of this sort of research being not only exercised, but championed! Only sorry I couldn’t write more quickly!

@emmaboulton Used to say design researcher to signify the scope of work went beyond interfaces. But as a design researcher my scope was inextricably linked to the scope/vision of the design organization. Now, I say researcher and use @emmaboulton’s research framework to define scope. Thanks!
