@JanRingos Simply put, tool calling via RPC specifically for LLMs. It's all the rage right now because it's dead simple to expose just about anything to your LLM to call and use. You should really give it a try in VSCode with GitHub Copilot in agent mode

@gunnarwb I am in office five days a week. For what I am doing the live interaction with the team is priceless. Works great for us. Not saying it is the case for everyone but for me it has been perfect

I've been working from an actual office with my team for about a year now. What I have come to realize is that I get much much less work done but I enjoy my job more. I would guess I was 2x more efficient working from home but I also didn't like my job. It's a conundrum

Side project. A portal with Entra ID auth, retrieving AVD desktops assigned to a user (1:1) and allowing the user to resize and then power on the VM (as it is stored small and with cheapest storage). Once on, user can use Direct Launch to connect to it and later downsize it.

Being the "old" infrastructure guy today, the new "back in my day" story for pre-sales guys starts like this: "Let me tell you about my 42U rack, with 5 DL380s, a crap UPS and an iSCSI array I bought off eBay" In 1999 I knew a Cisco guy that I figured had $100K (todays) of hardware in his basement in Chicago. And the biggest email chains or forums post for pre-sales folks was lab storage, and servers on discount sites and refurb sites. I miss the old days...

@bbelding @shawnbass For me that is where the cloud shines. It would detect I want to render something, see my PC is relatively slow and do the rendering in the cloud with 100X more power so it is done in minutes and not overnight

@shawnbass Agree on VDI for sure. It’s all the stuff you need multiple apps for but can’t easily connect them today. Imagine kicking off a video editing / rendering / posting routine by just telling it what you want, and then going to bed and it’s done in the morning. So many possibilities.

My belief is that iPaaS, iSaaS and RPA are all in trouble in the very near term. MCP + Compute Vision will open up a huge set of opportunities for the citizen developer community and when you add what cursor brings the lines between citizen developers and real developer are gone
tara tan@taratan

Did Cursor + Anthropic's MCP just make billion-dollar businesses like Zapier obsolete? MCP lets AI agents connect directly with APIs, databases, and services—cutting out low-code tools like Zapier. Cursor just integrated it into their code agent, meaning you can now build end-to-end apps and workflows without manual automation tools. Why This Is a Big Deal: 1. No More Static Triggers → AI Agents React Dynamically Before: Zapier waits for an explicit trigger (“When an email arrives, do X”). Now: MCP-powered agents monitor, understand, and act when needed—no predefined trigger necessary. 2. No More Manual Workflow Design → AI Builds Workflows on the Fly Before: You set up rigid automation chains in Make or Pipedream. Now: AI decides the best workflow based on real-time needs—no need to predefine connections. With the pace of product improvements in software agents in the last few months, millions of people could generate end-to-end software or automation flows in minutes within the year. Strange? Inevitable. While Cursor and Windsurf are more focused on developers today, the market for the "prosumer" app creator will eclipse this market. Fun fact: @zapier is the OG of seedscaling, getting to $230M ARR with only $1.4M in funding. Handy links to learn more: @Anthropic MCP docs: modelcontextprotocol.io/introduction How to integrate MCP in @cursor_ai docs.cursor.com/context/model-… @composio has a handy a list of MCP servers: mcp.composio.dev

Who would like to review my slides for my upcoming RDP IO Lab presentation on "Decrypting and Inspecting RDP traffic in Wireshark"? I have finished my first draft, but could use some feedback. It's supposed to be 45 minutes in total, including Q&A. Just DM me with your email and I'll send you a copy

@awakecoding Not quite - the list comes from the errors in the sysprep log file. This is Win11 24H2 (Spanish) and I've had to remove packages which I don't think I've seen before today

@JustinTrudeau I am not sure how we can say that in Canada we have Universal Healthcare. What is being given to Canadians is a disservice, a shame really. Of course politicians do not have to wait 8-12 hours at any @OttawaHospital to see a doctor. High taxes for what? Nothing.

@Bell_Support by far the worst technical support I have seen in Canada after 25 years here. Have an issue with my Internet service and your technical support cannot fix and keep telling me that an IP address that changes every hour in the middle of the day, disrupting work is ok.

@leo__oliveira Amazing! Well it is Christmas time so gotta ask you to find a way so we can actually replace the XVI Compact internal drives LOL. Even if I need to drill a damn opening for an eject button. That said my internal drives do work perfectly but must be prepared for the worst!

@crod Then, you going to enjoy more as I was able to make it work without any driver on the SRAM. It means you can use this to boot to install drivers or configure the system. My system is the CZ-600, the original from 1987.

I was able to get 3.1/2 PC drives to work with the X68000 using a driver loaded on the SRAM to disable the interrupt and disk in signal requirements. I found a circuit that implements those and I'll try to build it sometime in the future to maybe not need the SRAM driver.

RDP is designed to expose a LOT from the client machine to the server - now imagine what can be done if an attacker successfully gets a victim to connect to a malicious RDP server. Signing .RDP files provides a false sense of security that malicious actors use for their benefit
Microsoft Threat Intelligence@MsftSecIntel

The spear-phishing emails in this campaign were sent to thousands of targets in over 100 organizations and contained a signed Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) configuration file that connected to an actor-controlled server.

@LinkedIn is spot on on its recommendations for my next jobs. Wondering if they are using #AI to find me the best jobs based on my resume. Well maybe it is a case of recommendations based on my reputation?
