It’s kind of funny to see prediction markets “taking off” as 0-fee sportsbooks + people farming a potential airdrop + ofc insider trading heaven Probably >10x inflated volume, even though the longer this goes on actual adoption will increase Let’s see now that they’re pressured to make money and introduce fees how things will pan out, not sure people understand how thin some of these markets are

@Kevmath I stopped playing full-time in August 2016 and played between 1-5% of that volume the years after (maybe 10-25% during lockdowns). In my mind that’s poker being a hobby, but I guess people found “retirement” funny

After 6 good years, I’ve decided not to renew my ambassador role with @GGPoker. We are trying to have kids this year and I’m launching an investment fund, so that will be my full focus going forward. I started playing poker exactly half my life ago and it has given me an incredible amount of freedom and opportunity. It allowed me to travel the world, meet amazing people and build the life I have today. It will always be very special to me. Huge thanks to the team and to you, the community. It’s been a great ride and I’m very grateful.

A friend wants to buy fully customized poker chips for his clients. As high end as possible, does anyone have good recommendations.

too much praise, I wasn't so mature or disciplined and just a very strong passion/obsession to find a better strategy vs others. Once I found a few "proven" repeatable winning strategies where back then it was very black/white, it was relatively easy&fun to execute. First years were the hardest, later the main struggle was all the attention and being overwhelmed with all the input

The story of @CrownUpGuy winning everything before his 26th birthday kinda messed up my perception of success. Logically, I can’t set any goals like winning my first @WSOP ring or bracelet this year. So instead this year, at 26, my goal: Just show up. Be 1% better everyday.

Just to give context on how good the Joshua bet was, I went to sleep an hour before the ring walk, woke up 3 hours later and went to pee before checking who won

@kwansfull I think you underestimate the gap between cheating and playing fair. For their spot it’s been at least a few million dollar EV per year

These two guys were so so good at poker. They could print money, get any staking they wanted, sponsorships, charge insane $ for coaching. Still dumbfounded to this day why they would do what they did.

So 🥁🥁🥁 He is supposed to play an 83% range from the button but with a mostly non all in strategy. I have a huge risk premium, I need 20% extra equity compared to chipev/pot odds to call. You can see AK does call, but that’s because his jamming range is coming mostly from suited Kx. If people are interested, I can show another sim with a more aggressive strategy from him.

Triton has done literally exactly all the good things that would need to be done Drugs are not a problem, what are you on about? People excessively hiding themselves also not a problem If you want to run it in the US, just copy-paste it and bring your friends to play, then it’ll run

My friends and I are considering starting a new hi limit poker tournament circuit in the US. Millions in payouts per tournament (think Triton++) but some conditions: 1. There will be drug tests. You can’t be on any drugs including any performance enhancing drugs like Ritalin or Adderall. 2. No sunglasses, hoodies or masks. You play with your face uncovered and only prescription eye glasses are allowed. 3. There will be reasonable hours and formats so that it’s both not a turbo shove-fest nor an 11 day nit-fest. Thoughts? In general, what would make tournaments flourish in popularity and attract normies vs just degens and solver pros?
