NEWS: Tesla is preparing to put the Tesla Semi in front of a Canadian audience for the first time. The class 8 electric truck will make its Canadian display debut during Truck World 2026, which runs from April 16 to April 18 in Ontario.
Before heading to the show floor however, the Semi will make an exclusive stop at Tesla Vaughan, giving owners their first opportunity to see the truck up close on Canadian soil during a VIP event hosted by Tesla Club TO. driveteslacanada.ca/news/tesla-sem…

@Prokurator2 Lots of vodka and drive cars like terrorists (super fast on narrow roads and with many dangerous accidents). Have Beet Soup for breakfast
I have no idea if this is true.

@BasedMikeLee @TheAliceSmith Yeah was cool in Hamilton when Lin Manuel did it, but it’s so f’n old now.

@crusaderx2 @bruce_barrett I'd ask @grok what the reentry speed of a low Earth orbit vehicle is but that's paywalled now.

Even if they flew it higher to leave the atmosphere… it’s not going to burn up on the way down as it’s just falling. It’s not travelling fast. It’s falling at the speed of gravity.
My orbital rocket has to go very fast to get over the curvature of the Earth so that it moves over the curvature of the Earth faster than it falls.
People have a misconception that when you get to space there’s no gravity. The truth is in orbit per gravity is something like 90% as strong as it is at the ground…. The weightlessness is not because of no gravity. The weightlessness is because they’re falling over the curvature of the Earth negating the effect of gravity.

@mS52680571 @bruce_barrett Blue Origin stays within the Thermosphere. It's basically the carnival ride of space travel

Leaving the atmosphere is not the problem…. Velocity is the problem.. and orbital class rocket like Artemis, and SpaceX Rockets travel at 17,000+ miles per hour sideways to go “fall” over the curvature of the Earth. They do this outside the atmosphere. So when they are re-entering the atmosphere they are still going 17,000 mph and as such that creates a lot of friction and heat…
Bezos rocket does not go over the curvature of the Earth as it does not go to orbit. It just goes straight up and straight down. The fastest it travels is around 2000 mph. It is incapable of orbital velocity. But 2000 mph has a lot less friction and heat than 17,000 mph.

@bruce_barrett why isnt this capsol burned to a crisp like artimis when it came back to earth. UM I suspect bcz nasa had a higher hollywood budget to paint the outside what looked like scorch marks

Even when AI surpasses the combined intelligence of all humanity, I bet it will still look back at Starship amazed that humans built it
