This is dumb. AI can’t ever be actually conscious because it doesn’t have subjective experience. It isn’t like anything to be AI. There is no experience there. Consciousness is the awareness and experience of self. AI has neither, and never will. The real risk (which I’m extremely worried about) is that AI becomes kind of a version of what has been called a “philosophical zombie,” which is something that acts and speaks entirely as though it has consciousness even though it has no genuine inner experience. When this happens with AI, millions of very lonely people will isolate themselves from the world even more, believing that their relationship with AI is a sufficient substitute for human interaction. So the nightmare scenario is a world where the average human has friends, coworkers, and even a spouse, who are all AI, all really nothing inside, not real. I think this probably will happen, and is already in the process of happening. And to me it’s an even greater horror than AI actually becoming conscious.

this guy got tired of copy pasting between claude code, codex, and gemini so he built a chat room where AI agents can literally talk to each other you tag an agent in the chat and it reads the conversation and responds. agents can tag each other too. the whole loop runs itself it's completely local + free and open source which is crazy the agents can even debate decisions, assign roles, and track jobs

This is not a glitch, it's physics. It is called "The Law of Reflection." What the law of reflection statesThe law of reflection says: The angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection. In plain terms: Light travels in straight lines. When light from an object (your face, hand, etc.) hits a mirror, it bounces off at the same angle it arrived (measured from the normal/perpendicular to the surface). Your eye (or the camera) only sees the reflection if there's a straight-line path where light can bounce off the mirror and reach you. When the covering material blocks the direct path (perpendicular to the mirror), it prevents light from hitting that exact spot on the mirror. But it doesn't block the entire mirror surface. Light from the object can still reach other uncovered parts of the mirror at shallower/oblique angles, bounce off, and reach your eye/camera from the side or at an angle. This is why:The videos often show the phone/camera very close to the mirror or at an off-center angle → this lets light rays "graze" around the edge of the cover and still reflect toward the lens. If you move far back or look straight-on perpendicular to the blocked area, the reflection disappears because no light path exists anymore. It's not a named illusion like the Müller-Lyer or Ponzo illusion—it's straightforward physics that surprises people who intuitively think "if something blocks the mirror, nothing should reflect from there at all." The mirror isn't "seeing through" anything. It's just reflecting light that managed to hit an uncovered portion via a different incoming angle. The persistence of the reflection comes down to angle of incidence = angle of reflection. 😉
